Via Monterone Luxury Apartment is situated in the historical center of Spoleto in a quiet one way street. It has been recently refurbished with style and comfort to provided an amazing base from which to enjoy your visit to this charming city.
The Luxury apartment has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a balcony with amazing mountain views.
The city is a centre of cultural delights, in particular it hosts the Festival dei Due Mondi each summer. Regional Umbrian food is delicious and every restaurant prides itself on serving simple, fresh, typical dishes. Truffles, asparagus, peccorino cheese, local salamis and many varieties of pasta, not to mention the local wines, all are worth sampling. More than once!

Spoleto: Spoleto has been inhabited since early Roman time but today it appears essentially a mediaeval city. It flourished also as one of the Papal States and the Pope often resided in the Rocca Albornoziana at the summit of the city. Worth seeing as you walk around are The Arch of Drusus (23 A.D.) to be found near the Romanic church of St. Ansano , the Roman theatre, whose construction goes back to the first years of the Empire, and the Paleo Christian basilica St. Salvatore of the 4th century (at about 1.2 km distance to the north).
In the lower part of the city hunt out the church St.Gregorio Maggiore,(12th century), characterized by its evocative apsis zone and by the elevated presbytery, a Roman bridge (also called 'the Bloody') consisting of three arches in travertine stone blocks and the amphitheatre of the 2nd century A.D.
The duomo has stunning frescoes by Lippi and there are many delightful piazzas and winding streets to discover.

Monteluco: The sacred mountain of Monteluco has been considered a holy place since Roman times and then the Benedictines established a monastery near the summit and this provided hospitality for Franciscans and other pilgrims. Syrian monks also came here for meditation and prayer.
It is covered entirely with oaks and is now linked to Spoleto by a 13th century aqueduct. There are many walking trails to explore and the views are stunning.
At the base of the mountain is San Pietro's church built in the early 5th century and this can be seen from the apartment.

Umbria: Umbria is not as well known as neighbouring Tuscany and is consequently not full of foreign tourists. However, the discovery process is beginning and news of the delights are spreading. Towns like, Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco, Todi, Orvieto and Norcia are all worth visiting. Wine tasting at wineries in the area around Montefalco, walking in the many olive grove mountain paths, discovering the delicious regional menus and the slow pace of life are all highly recommended.

Extremely well equipped and smart apartment. We have stayed here before and enjoy the location and facilities. Marina, the host is very helpful but we had been well briefed by her on our visit two years previously.

An outstanding apartment with absolutely stunning views. To be honest, the pictures don't do it justice. Everything was perfect. A very well appointed kitchen, strong wifi and very spacious. We hope to return!

This was our first time in Spoleto and we were delighted that we had chosen this town . Spoleto has quite a personality- we enjoyed fine dining at Il Trmpio del Guisto ( for pennies of what it would cost is in the states)! We also had a “family style “ dinner at Osteria del Matto- where you eat what “nonna” cooks- and it was delicious!! Fillipo is fromt of house and quite a character- what a fun night! Spoleto has so many historical sites you can hardly see them all in a day.Our apartment was near the Piazza del Mercato a wonderful spot with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths overlooking the hillside. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

The apartment is beautiful, well laid out, huge with a spectacular balcony view, great location close to restaurants and food stores. Marina is a super host. She met us near the apartment, helped us with luggage then went with us to parking. She organized a doctor’s house call and gave us great advice throughout our stay. The Spoletosfera parking is not far and there’s a moving sidewalk that has an exit near the apartment in Piazza Carducci. We got a monthly parking pass (abonamento di un mese Spoletosfera) at the train station for €20 versus €20 per day. Clerk needed passport and licence plate. Cameras at entrance and exit scans plate, all very easy. Spoleto is a wonderful town and is a good base for scenic drives around Umbria. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.

This was an utterly spectacular, beautifully decorated and maintained apartment, with the city out front (on the street side) and with a balcony out back, overlooking nothing but greenery and farmland. You couldn't possibly to any better than this.

My husband & I stayed in this more-than-perfect apartment for a week & were thrilled with our stay & experience! Booking was easy; Marina was gracious to pick us up at the train station & orient us to the apartment & area. This apartment is so much more spacious & beautiful than in the photos. The furnishings throughout are lovely--understated, inviting & very comfortable! Linens, towels etc are abundant. There's literally everything you want/need to settle in & cook, relax on the spacious porch w/a gorgeous view, lounge in the living room, & sleep in very comfy beds. With three bathrooms, washer & dryer, TV/stereo, guide books, & spaces to dine, it was almost too good to leave the apartment to explore Spoleto---but we did & what a treat! Located in the upper old town, we walked everywhere from this apartment into the hills & St. Francis' trail beyond the walls; around the Rocca for our evening passeggiata; to the Duomo, ancient theater, museum, & all about town to every piazza, church, and ancient site. There's shops for groceries in the Piazza del Mercato that provided everything you need, and for larger shops we went down to the lower town to the Conad (& also hiked the old railway trail). We also took a few day trips to Trevi, Spello, and Norcia. In short, this was a perfect trip made even better by Marina's attention to detail, availability to answer questions, help with a taxi on our departure, & the absolutely spectacular & welcoming apartment that we will return to!

We stayed 2 weeks in the apartment and were very pleased we chose this location. Though we rented a car, we walked just about everywhere we wanted to go in Spoleto. Future guests should note that you cannot park near the apartment (Marina informed us of a parking garage relatively nearby and helped with getting a monthly parking pass – otherwise we would have paid E20 a day, but instead bought 2 monthly passes for E20 each). From the garage you can take the underground moving sidewalk that will get you close to the apartment. The furthest exit has an elevator and is probably the closest, but both are only a short block apart. The apartment had everything we needed and more, the beds were very comfortable, and the balcony located off the kitchen was a nice place to start the day (morning sun and a beautiful view). There are two types of coffee makers, a Moka style, and a pod style, plus a teapot. Also interesting was how the trash service is done in Spoleto. There are different pick-up days for glass, plastic, paper, etc. The trash truck comes pretty early so be sure to have your bag out the night before. We sure made use of the service on glass day. I bet the guy wondered how long we had been saving up the wine bottles. Overall the apartment was in a good location from which to visit the attractions and restaurants in Spoleto, and a good base camp to go to other hill towns in Umbria and Tuscany.
