Would have liked personal checkin, but system worked. Room cozy and functional. Surroundings with unsurpassed natural beauty. Homey town nearby, with good food and friendly staff. Wildlife. Just great!
The checkin process was easy. Just pick up an envelope by the office. I never saw any employees at the property. Probably because of low season. The worst thing about the hotel was lack of internet. I get that's a small town and all, but dang. No WiFi? I was dead in the water
It was in a nice quiet place off the highway so that was great! Could use an update on the room since decor was from the '70's. Did not see management the whole 3 days we were there and had a few questions. The restaurant and salon were closed--not sure if that was a permanent thing or not but wasn't prepared for that since it was advertised they were at the lodge.
I’m really disappointed to be writing this review but am hoping it will help other’s visiting the area. Tal WiWi has so much potential but it is completely overshadowed by its poor qualities My partner and I booked our stay a day in advance as we were planning on hiking over the weekend and just needed a simple place to stay. Unfortunately, the lodge is just not equipped for last minute bookings, especially when it’s the weekend. We showed up Saturday evening and the key to our room was not in the box and obviously there was no one in the office so it was closed. We were basically stranded 4 hours away from Phoenix with no where to stay that night. And it was getting dark. I called the number on the sign taped to the back of the door and the person who answered is basically a receptionist and after calling back and forth for 30 minutes she finally said she couldn’t get the manager there to let us into our room. She gave me the CODE to the office to go in and get the key to our room, I got the key and opened our door, the room was dirty from its previous reservation. Called back and she made me go in the office again to get ANOTHER key to a different room, opened the door to that room and again, the room was dirty from its previous reservation. At this point I’m exhausted from hiking all day and very stressed. I call back and she ends up telling me the code to a different cabin. We finally got into a room about an hour later. So unnecessarily stressful, not worth it
Peaceful and place is tidy. Check in was easy. Beds are comfortable
I liked the atmosphere. Still very closed off due to COVID-19. Quiet and beautiful property. No fan in our room. It got quite hot in our room.
Room is very clean & quaint. Close to all the outdoor activities we enjoy. However there was a fight outside our room and no one on property. Police came 45 minutes to an hour later. Property could have used a staff person on site.
The location is excellent if you are hunting in Unit 1—close access to hunting areas. The room was spotless. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint is the plug-in outlets are old and worn out. My phone charger plug kept falling out of the plug-ins. The only outlet that worked was in the bathroom.
Reasonable rates , nice accommodations, nice location.
Checked in, felt really bad for the young lady who checked us in and doing all the housekeeping. In between checking us in, maybe 4 more guest stopped in which stopped her from doing housekeeping. She took ownership of this property. Definitely needs a raise if she isn’t a owner. Very nice cozy place. Restaurant closed, no place to cook food.
Restaurant was good and the staff at the lodge and restaurant were very helpful and kind. Our accommodations fit the bill for both of us. Will stay at the lodge again for sure.
Restaurant on property was very good with friendly staff. Didn’t read anywhere there was no a/c in the room but was provided a fan. Room was spotless but with only 1/32nd of a roll left, ran out of toilet paper. Would definitely stay again but maybe upgrade to room with kitchenette if staying more than one night. Also, when booking, was given instructions to check in at Greer office, which was wrong. You actually check in at the Lodge itself, not Cabin Property Mgmt.
