Nice
Nice place to stay
The place was very nice. Had a good time enjoying the views from the deck. It was just not long enough.
I liked being close to Pine Creek Grove and Corning Glass museum. Everywhere we drove was gorgeous. We started in Allentown, PA. The restaurants were good and close. Finding this place was dicey, total darkness. We drove up a driveway, and yes, that was it. There are lights next to the bldg but where were the streetlights? It was dark enough to see the stars. The inside was dumpy but I don't care because the bed was good and a full sized refrigerator. We heard a little noise from the other apartments but it didn't interfere with our sleep. We picked the place because it was near the GRAND CANYON OF PA, which is gorgeous, no pun intended.
Not what we paid for, misrepresented
We found the location of the property to be as it was advertised. However it was difficult to find at first as there was only a very small marker with the property number at the foot of the hill; you could not see the building from the road. I would recommend a light next to the marker; turning onto the dirt road up to the building was almost impossible to see at night. The building has 3 apartments in it , numbered 1, 2, and 3. Our reservation confirmation did not indicate which apartment number was ours-it would be helpful to others to include that going forward. Inside the apartment was not too bad. The furniture was more vintage but acceptable. Couch was very comfortable. When we first walked in we noticed an odd smell. We soon realised that it was the well water which had a very strong sulfer smell. We didn’t drink it or cook with it but did bathe in it. It flared up my husband’s psoriasis so that he was uncomfortable for much of our trip. Overall we give this property a 1-star rating.
Great get away and beautiful view sitting on the deck drinking a morning coffee while the sun is rising.
The building has three apartments and I rented apartment 1. The unit was clean, the yard was well maintained, although mosquito infested. The bed is comfortable. However, the apartment has the following shortcomings: 1) damp must odor. The unit needs a de humidifier and some air fresheners 2). The building has very low water pressure. If you shower, before you finish (5 minutes tops) the water trickles out of the shower head. Same is true for kitchen water. 3). The building has no internet service and no cable television. Local stations only. The building is in a remote location. If privacy and quiet is your goal, this is a good place. It’s very close to a large lake making it convenient for boaters and fishers. This unit would attract more customers if the owner would correct these issues. I don’t know whether the water problem can be fixed. Without these corrections, I would be reluctant to stay there again.
