Stayed Apr 10, 2025After a warm and friendly welcome by the host we had a great stay at this apartment. Spacious and exactly as described it proved to be the perfect base for exploring the area as it was a short walk to the entrance to Pompei and centrally located between Pompei and the Amalfi coast. The only minor issues we experienced were the wi-fi dropping out and the hot tub was not set up. I believe the former was a temporary local issue and the lack of a hot tub wasn't raised with the host as presumably it is still considered too early in the season. Many previous reviews mention issues with noise from the restaurant below but we only experienced this on one night and it wasn't too much of an issue for us. Overall, highly recommended and we would definitely look to stay again if we return to the area.

Stayed Dec 20, 2025This was a wonderful place to stay. Karine was very responsive and helpful, even suggesting a knowledgable and engaging tour guide for the ruins of Pompei. The location is an eight-minute walk to the train station, 15-minute walk to groceries, and 12 minute walk to the entrance to the ruins. The apartment sits on top of a restaurant and even the sound from a late-night party below was not loud or intrusive. The restaurant was very accommodating when we wanted to order take-out, and the food was excellent. The view from the walk-out patio was fantastic. We watched the sun drip behind Capri from the rooftop. Highly recommend this place. - Rich

Stayed May 8, 2025We had an amazing experience during our stay. There were some issues finding, but that was on us and the GPS. Karine and her crew couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The apartment was exactly as advertised and there were amazing views of both the sunrise and the sunset. You can even see the ruins from the terrace! The food at the restaurant below was excellent and the staff was extremely attentive and nice. Don't hesitate to book, we will again for another stay in the area!

Stayed Jun 17, 2023This property is amazing!! We want to come back. Not is it just 7 minute walk to the front gate of Pompeii but is so close to Capri. The hosts are so nice and accommodating. The apartment was so clean and had everything we could need! The spa on the patio was very refreshing after a long hot day in Pompeii. The air conditiiner was also amazing. The restaurant and pizza downstairs is so good!! Which is owned by the hosts. It is gated and felt so safe. The befs are very comfortable. My hisband and i took a time out and went to the arabian night so zen bar under the apartment and was beautiful and relaxing. Very nice servers! We definatley will come back!!

Stayed May 14, 2023This apartment is beautiful and clean, with ample space, comfortable beds and in the perfect location to tour Pompeii which is directly across the street. Although the city of Pompeii may seem industrial, the apartment itself is behind an electric locked gate up the hill from the hectic traffic of the city which made us feel safe. The apartment is on the same property as the restaurant So Zen. It was so convenient to have this fabulous restaurant so close to the apartment that it was the only place we ate during our stay. The food was spectacular, the wine and drink selection divine, and the service was impeccable. Another highlight of our experience was Karine, the property manager. She went above and beyond any expectations to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. I cannot say enough about Karine and would stay at this apartment again in a heartbeat. Don't hesitate to book this Vrbo. Please note: Getting off of the highway in Pompeii and finding the apartment was a little tricky, make sure you pay attention to Karine's instructions.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a family group ageing between 11 months and 80 years old. The apartment suited us well, giving us ample space for each family member to have their own space. Huge terrace, bathroom big and spacious air conditioning was good and kitchen also well equipped. We could have benefitted from a microwave to warm the baby’s milk but not a huge issue. The hosts were extremely helpful, extremely responsive to e-mails and even helped us arrange transport to various trips out. The property was as advertised and we were happy and suited us well.

Stayed Oct 28, 2018First, our hosts: Karine and Pasquale were warm and welcoming hosts. Communication was primarily with Karine who was great at responding quickly to any questions we had and was always on hand to provide any advice. Karine arranged for a taxi to take us to and from the airport which was 15% cheaper than anything we had found on the Internet. The apartment itself was clean and spacious both inside and outside (although we didn’t get much chance to sit outside due to the weather which was pleasant compared to the UK but a bit rainy, we went in Oct / Nov). There were a few niggly things (eg: none of the remote controls worked as the batteries were flat, on one occasion the rain had seeped through the external door on to the kitchen floor and we had to ask for some towels to get rid of the water, on one occasion the water heating turned itself off and we had to ask for it to be switched back on) that took the edge off our stay…..not major but it was disappointing that they happened. Location-wise, if you want to go to Pompeii ruins (and why wouldn’t you?) and travel by train using the Circumvesuviana to get to Sorrento, Herculaneum and Naples (not Amalfi as some people have suggested, it’s probably close to being a 5 hour round trip from Pompeii) its about as good as you can get with a 5 – 10 minute walk to both. There is a “tourist information office” next to the train station but its actually a commercial business that sells guided trips to Vesuvius and Pompeii….fine if that’s what you want but they will be charging a premium. The nearest Supermarket (a 24 / 7 Carrefour) is 15 – 20 mins walk away which can be a bit of a chore to go to and from as its on the main road into Pompeii new town but was well stocked. One nice surprise was Pompeii new town….its about a 20 – 25 minute walk (continue past Carrefour and bear left) and was quite buzzy and pretty….a nice way to spend an hour or two. We found two great restaurants..The Old West (steak, burgers) and I Matti (pizza, pasta) were both good on service and food Unfortunately, as professional and kind as Karine and Pasquale were, like others who have stayed, we suffered on two occasions from the party’s downstairs which went on until the early hours of the morning at the weekends. We can't recommend it because we didn’t want to hear loud music and talking until the early hours but if that doesn’t bother you then it’s a good place to stay especially in the summer when you can use the terrace.

Stayed May 20, 2018I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Casa Raphael! My wife, our 8 year old son and I just spent a lovely week there. First, our hosts: Karine and Pasquale are warm and welcoming hosts (and very child-friendly :-). They did everything to make us feel comfortable and make sure we had everything we need during our stay. And on several occasions offered some very welcome advice and tips on things to see and do in the area. Next, the apartment: we couldn't ask for more - it was very nicely appointed and recently updated. It was clean, comfortable and functional - it was spacious inside and out - we loved dining on the terrace overlooking the Amalfi coastline! Finally, the location was perfect - it is literally a 5 minute walk to the entrance of the Pompeii ruins (on both ends - also close to the Villa dei Misteri, which I recommend seeing :); and a great jumping off point for many other area attractions - we visited Vesuvius, Sorrento and the Greek ruins in Paestum all easily in day trips. It's also nice bonus that there is an excellent restaurant on the premises! So, if you're looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the Pompeii-Amalfi Coast area - this is the ideal spot!
