Stayed Dec 31, 1969The Cozy Bear Den really delivered! Very comfy place that was lovingly tended to. All the amenities worked; the sauna was heavenly after cold days outside. When I am in the Grand Marais, I hope to stay again!

Stayed Oct 26, 2025We had such a wonderful stay! The hosts were fantastic—friendly, responsive, and made everything so easy. The kitchen was very well stocked, which made cooking at home a breeze. The location couldn’t have been better, close to everything we wanted to do. One of the highlights was definitely the sauna—it was such a relaxing treat after a day out. Overall, a perfect spot in a great location, and we’d love to come back!

Stayed Jul 27, 2025Cozy Bear Den was a comfortable and peaceful retreat for us. Alex & Kate have thought of every detail to make their home a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped so we could easily prepare meals. We enjoyed the sauna after our daily hikes on the north shore and relaxing in the living room or patio at night. Perfect place to stay for any season!!

Stayed Mar 5, 2025Not really impressed. You arrive and your vrbo is in an old garage. It wasn’t very cold outside but the floors were freezing. Either wear your shoes in the place or freeze your feet. The one nice thing was the sauna.

Stayed Jan 4, 2025If you're looking for a location that is close to all of the cute things in this area of the world, but still private and quiet, this is an ideal location. I traveled with my sister and we got to have lots of late night talking while also laughing at rorously where we disturbed no one. The sauna was a real treat.

Stayed Jul 16, 2024Our stay was great! We enjoyed the locations proximity to town, but also just far enough that it did not impact the serenity of our outdoor experience. The housing itself was wonderful and everything was easy to use. The only update that would be needed would be to trim some of the taller grass around the outdoor spaces, making it easier to enjoy the patio and fireplaces outback.

Stayed Jun 9, 2024We absolutely fell in love with the Bear's Den and felt right at home. The owners spared no expense and definitely have an eye for detail. It was very enjoyable for us to spend a few days celebrating our Anniversary in this secluded location, but still nearby to Tofte and Lake Superior. The views out the front door as we headed out for runs were superb and even had a great view of the Lake. Our hosts were extremely quick to respond and helped with any questions we had. Our favorite was the Sauna and attached garage. The Sauna is plenty big and warmed up quickly. They even had eucalyptus drops for the water to create a warm aroma while steaming! Driving into the attached garage was an unexpected convenience that we definitely appreciated even for the summer months. The patio out back was fun to grill out on and take in the peaceful ambiance of this location. And to top it off their was a washer and dryer on site we ended up using too. Wow!! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will definitely be recommending and hope to come back again.
