Stayed Jul 11, 2025Really, the only downside of this property is that the layout is odd. There is a raised area in the hallway outside of the bathroom, another in the bathroom, and the bedroom is long and narrow. Nothing majorly wrong. The house is also listed at 114, but the Higher Altitude property itself (the bottom floor) is 112, leading to some confusion with parking. Text concerns were replied to relatively quickly for this, but could have been made known prior to check in.

Stayed Jun 4, 2026The property is on the first level and movement/noises on the second floor by others is fairly loud; luckily we are heavy sleepers. Otherwise property was great - had everything we needed and was a short walk to beach. Owners even left personal touch like providing bag of ice and basket of snacks. Thank you!

Stayed May 15, 2026unfortunately we had to leave within hours due to the overwhelming artificial fragrance throughout the very small space. Multiple Glade plug-ins were being used, and the smell was so strong that both my husband and I became physically ill. I have asthma, and he suffers from severe migraines, so this was a major issue for us.We unplugged the plug-ins, opened all windows and doors, ran the fans on high, and left for several hours hoping it would improve, but the odor had already permeated the linens, towels, furniture, and entire home. We ultimately had no choice but to drive back home to Norfolk that same night because we could not find other accommodations.The owners declined any refund, calling it a “personal issue,” though they also acknowledged the fragrances can bother some people. Because of that, I strongly believe the heavy use of artificial fragrance should be disclosed in the listing so guests with asthma, allergies, migraines, or fragrance sensitivities can make an informed decision. Our vacation days, time and money were completely wasted on this property. The owners did not show any remorse or care. When you have a property that’s open to the public you should be more considerate of the quality of products you use in your home and how they may affect paying guests.

Stayed Jul 2, 2025Lonq weekend with the hubby. Great place. It had everything we needed for beach time (Easy walk and access) and a place to offload our kayaks when we weren't using them. Highly recommend for couples.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025My daughter and I escaped for a few days to the beach and this place was the perfect place for us. The place offered everything and then some. Just a very short walk to the private beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay would would definitely recommend this place to others.

Stayed Jun 19, 2025This place is absolutely prefect for a couple. The walk to the beach is minimal, maybe 3 minutes, and beautiful. The property was perfectly clean. We couldn't have asked for better and this will be our first choice when returning to the area.
