Plantation Dunes #5503

The Space:

Soak in the serene coastal beauty that surrounds you at Gulf Shores Plantation Dunes. This retreat has been recently updated with all new décor and furnishings. Whether your condo is directly on the Gulf or comes with a less direct view of the Gulf, you'll find yourself in the middle of one of the most beautiful areas of the Gulf Coast - Fort Morgan. Fort Morgan is well known for its peaceful, laid-back atmospherewhere vacationers can explore nature at the Bon Secour National Wildlife Sanctuary or the historic Civil War-era Fort Morgan.

The wildlife refuge, which encompasses some of the state's last remaining undisturbed coastal barrier habitat, is home to a variety of wildlife, with more than 360 different species of birds documented on the site. Spring and fall welcome beautiful migratory bird populations as they travel between their breeding and wintering grounds. The refuge is also home to endangered species, including the loggerhead, Kemp's Ridley and green sea turtles as well as the Alabama Beach Mouse.

Historic Fort Morgan is situated on Mobile Point at the end of the scenic Fort Morgan Peninsula. Here, you'll find nature areas, a boat launch, a picnic area and beaches along with an on-site museum and opportunities to learn about the significant role the fort played in the Battle of Mobile Bay in August 1864.

Back at Plantation Dunes, you'll enjoy a variety of resort amenities, such as basketball, shuffleboard and tennis courts; a putting green; a horseshoes pit; a sauna; an indoor pool; a barbecue area; and a volleyball net. Choose Gulf Shores Plantation Dunes for your next vacation, and you'll appreciate the comfort of your condo, the beauty of the natural surroundings and the resort's many amenities.

The apartment was clean and had a beautiful view. There were a couple things that needed fixing and when we called regarding it they came promptly to repair it. Vacasa was easy to work with and we appreciated their customer service. We will definitely use their service and properties again.

The unit is nicely equipped. Nice beach decor. The location of this unit requires a lot of walking. The balcony is small, but adequate for 2. The unit had been smoked in, we notified management, but nothing was done. Very strong smell of smoke.

As pictured except couch has brown stain and very worn. Also, chair is very worn. Otherwise, good location if you are looking for a very quiet vacation. Only handful of places to eat and a Dollar General in the area. Gulf Shores is 25 minutes away.

I thoroughly enjoyed the condo space; it was just perfect. I have absolutely no complaints about the space itself, the furnishings, or anything else. However, when I arrived there were no towels at all in the bathroom. I contacted three different people about this and waited about seven hours before giving up and going to bed. I was reassured several times that the towels would be brought as soon as possible, all to no avail. I found that unacceptable.

I asked a question from the owner as to whether I could check in early. Don’t hear back. It worked out anyway. But I did not receive a code to get into the condo. I think it should have come in an email. Had to get help from Vacassa.

We loved this sweet little studio. It was exactly as advertised. I was still a little anxious about it being too small for my husband and I, especially if it was going to rain most of the week, but the size was not a problem. There were a couple of inconveniences but we will probably be renting here again. Other than the shower rod being broken(not a big enough problem to bother reporting) and having to chose between a lot of steps to the elevator or climb 5 flights, it was perfect. You should note, Vacasa sends the code to get in the apartment but they used the # character with a space behind it. Which means it didn’t look like part of the code. It looked like a number sign, instead of a pound code such as, # 1234. This meant we needed to call Vacasa to clarify. That wasn’t fun because we were hot and trying to unload. Also they didn’t send check out instructions until the morning we were leaving, which was after we had checked out. In other properties those have been on the confirmation email or posted in the property itself. But even with these minor issues we loved this place right on the beach.

We met friends for the last two days of our vacation. Our rental was wonderful. It was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the view was amazing.

The unit was very cute and clean. There was construction being done in the building, so there was some noise early every morning around 8 a.m. That detracted some from the peacefulness, but, we still enjoyed our stay.

The proximity to the beach is perfect. The condo is very nicely decorated but it needs work. The small appliances need to be replaced. The ceiling in the shower is coming down. The toilet sings every time it is flushed which I am sure is annoying to the neighbors. It was to us. Neither remote for the tv worked.

Great little condo. Was very clean, and has a great view. The balcony is small, but suitable for 2 adults, and probably 1 smaller child. There are some extra (beach) chairs in closet. Decor is super cute, just like the pictures. There is a dishwasher, microwave, stove, coffee maker (regular round filters), and a toaster. No washer or dryer, but they are available at the ground floor for a small fee (cash or card, $2.50 per load). A kitchen towel, paper towels, small dish soap, a dishwasher pod, 2 small soap bars, a mini shampoo and body wash were supplied complementary. There were 4 shower towels, some wash rags, and some small handtowels and a floor towel. I have a few remarks, that won't keep me from rating 5 stars, but may help to cross the t's. The pull-out couch is really worn, my 7-year old slept on it and she thought it was fine, but it was sunk and not giving any support. I would have been miserable on it. Also, there were no sheets for it, but thankfully we always bring our own bedding. Another really good addition would be a small, collapsing/over the door drying rack, because with all the beach towels and swim clothes, there's not much room to hang them to dry. Lastly, it would be nice if the shower curtain could be washed like every two weeks or so. It gets a little stinky after a few days of use, although it doesn't look dirty or moldy. Overall, a wonderful place and I would certainly come again!!
