Great owner doing everything possible for you to enjoy your stay
As with all properties there are positives and negatives Positives: 1. David, his wife and his sister, Vanessa are great to deal with, very helpful. 2. Great location on the beach in an elevator building that is close to town, restaurants and the local markets. 3. The condo had a washer and dryer plus a well equipped kitchen with quality appliances. Negatives: 1. The second floor should really be occupied by children. It is serviced by a narrow spiral staircase. The 5' tall ships doors are whimsical but for an adult they are a head knocker and tripping hazard, this is also complicated by a 45 degree ceiling. 2. The air conditioning unit only serves only the master bedroom. 3. Several light fixtures were missing lamps or had burnt out lamps. We enjoyed the area and fell in love with Pornichet but the condo is best suited for families.
The apartment is stunningly light, easy to be in and has everything you need. The 180 degree view from the Terrace was amazing and the sun sets fantastic. Beach late September had enough activity to make it interesting but much emptier (and prettier) than the pic. Parking (one old convertible car (underground and on site) was easy. We were two (like to think middle aged) couples and only caveat is that the second double bedroom was up a steep spiral staircase and in the roof so didn't have full head height. However in the roof there was also a lovely children's room that slept 3 so ideal for a family with small children/teenagers. David and his wife were excellent, helpful and attentive hosts. I would thoroughly recommend.
We really loved our stay at this apartment (end August 2016). It's location right on the beach was excellent, and the Ste Marguerite beach itself is definitely the nicest in the area - it's absolutely stunning in my view! The beach has a small café with outdoor tables offering basic food and coffees, with a more extensive menu on the weekends. We loved our morning ritual of a walk along the beach (to allow our toddler to splash in the rock pools at the other end) followed by a coffee. Heaven. Not much else within walking distance, so you do need a car, including to get to the supermarket, but there is a secure car park (which is great, as the beach gets very busy on the warmer days!). You can walk along a path around to the next Pornichet beach though, which was also nice. The apartment itself was really neat and comfortable, and had everything we needed, including lots of toys for children (which was brilliant for us, as we were with our 2 year old), beach towels, umbrellas and even bikes ! They also provided us with a cot bed. The view from the balcony was amazing (we think the best on this beach) and we spent hours relaxing on the loungers and watching the sunset in the evening. The lower level rooms all have large glass windows/doors, so the apartment really makes the most of the view. The apartment has 3 bedrooms - 1 on the lower level (a double) and 2 on the upper level (a double and a kids room with 3 single beds). There are 2 bathrooms, which is a bonus too. The only thing to be aware of is that the stairs to the upper level are a spiral, narrow and very steep, so may not suit someone with mobility issues or very young children who cannot climb safely (we had to keep a close eye on our toddler!). The upstairs bedrooms also have a slopey roof so not fully-accessible, and you might bump your head a few times... This did not bother us though, as we didn't spend anytime in them other than to sleep. They even had sensor night-lights though to help avoid the bumps - great idea! David and his wife were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We would definitely go back, as it really was very relaxing. It's the perfect place if you love the beach and want to relax. Thanks David ! :)
