Stayed Jun 18, 2026We were very pleased with the apartment on Daniel Island! It was very clean and comfortable, well stocked with anything we needed, very tastefully decorated and thoughtfully laid out. It was a perfect place to stay to enjoy the trails on the island and also to visit Charleston to enjoy a walking tour and the City Market. It was a quick drive to get to Isle of Palms to spend time at the beach as well. The apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood - very family friendly and everyone seemed welcoming. Lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy, too. Great place to stay; we highly recommend it!

Stayed Mar 27, 2026The property is located on the lovely Daniel Island. It feels safe and secure. Parking was on the street very close to the entrance to the property. I reached out to the property manager as soon as we arrived with a question about the thermostat and received a prompt and helpful reply. It is important for potential future guests to know that this is a small apartment on top of a garage, and the pull out sofa and bed are in one large room, not in separate rooms as it may appear in the photos. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. It seemed as though the property was not professionally cleaned before we arrived. The toilet had a *stain* in the bowl and the baseboards were dusty throughout. There was an odor that suggested mildew, and did not abate throughout the stay. There were no hand towels or wash cloths in the apartment. The elastic on the fitted sheet was stretched and the sheet would not stay in place throughout the night. The garage door was opened late at night and woke us up.

Stayed Mar 29, 2026The room was quite cute when you entered the above garage apartment. However, there were quite a few negatives . For instance, the AC was programmed to go to 77...you can only bring it down 5 degrees at a time. So room was warm every time we returned from being out. The WIFi TV barely worked. At night it would have been nice to watch TV...it buffered so much you couldn't watch it. By the second night we were able to watch one show only after that. The main bed was ok...the cushions from the sleeper sofa however, were stained and the bed was very uncomfortable. It was an older piece of furniture. The kitchen was small, but everything was there. It was greatly appreciated to have coffee there for use. I don't know why this happened, but as we were checking in, one of the residents of the house was urinating in the yard. Not a way to start off your vacation! Also the bathroom sink barely got water out. However, the shower pressure was amazing. In sum, it was cute but had too many things in the negative side to recommend.

Stayed Feb 5, 2026Our host was fabulous & responsive — we even arrived a bit early and they let us check-in which was so appreciated! The VRBO was a bit unkempt, there was fake nails on the ground and some misc. wrappers and trash as well. Not anything crazy, but it felt like maybe the host didn’t clean in between guests. There also wasn’t any body wash (not super important at all, but would have been nice to know!) Overall, highly recommend!

Stayed Dec 20, 2025FROG as described private as detached. Blinds are easy to pull down & Push back up .Very good location for what I needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with what you need to cook appreciated the coffee. There’s a CVS in Publix right down the street. Walking path right there. Great parks boardwalk Barfield Park all over the island fun to explore! Check in check out was easy. A stacked laundry, washer dryer all types of TV channels easy to use. Thank you for sharing your place. The pool off of Pierce Street you can walk back to the marsh area and sit in chairs and watch nature. It’s a beautiful area. Daniel Island is a beautiful place, friendly people & families. If you look carefully, you might find a little free library “take a book, leave a book” by the park just around the corner or if you go over to the other pool area, there’s also another little library. Have fun!

Stayed Oct 23, 2025Beautiful above garage apartment. I do wish it had been disclosed on the listing that the apartment was above a garage and that the garage is currently in-use by the family who owns the main house, which is about 10 feet from the garage. We gave 4/5 stars because of this lack of disclosure as well as a constant and very large swarm of mosquitoes that were on you anytime you walked out the door, through the yard, and to your car. I am well aware that mosquitoes are bad in Charleston, but this was 20 mosquitoes attacking as soon as your feet hit the grass. Lastly, the apartment did have a displeasing musty smell. All of that being said, the neighborhood was extremely nice and very safe. We enjoyed all of the houses’ Halloween decorations. The apartment itself was clean and nice too.

Stayed Oct 8, 2025We enjoyed our stay! The rain kept us from doing somethings we had planned! The room was nice and clean. The only thing missed was bathroom trash and a couple wash clothes to wash with! My 9 year old son enjoyed his bike rides around the neighborhood, and fell in love with the little black kitty that visited us on our porch everyday! We are animal lovers so we all happily enjoyed the visits!

Stayed Jul 9, 2025Apartment was immaculately clean and the bed and most furnishings appeared to be new and in excellent condition.Air conditioning was able to cool the space properly desoite extreme heat and humidity.Towels and linens furnished were in very good condition and clean. However there was no real eating space; two stools against a narrow shelf in the kitchen was not adequate. The sofabed appeared to be a little older although in good repair and in or der to turn off the light above it one had to either stand on it and stretch up(challenging for a short person or get out of bed and go to the switch by the door.A bedside lamp would have been helpful. Kitchen appliances were clean and new and in working condition. Washing machine was in proper working order, while the dryer needed intervention by host.

Stayed May 20, 2025As soon as we walked in the door and shut the door, put our bags down, and immediately the mosquitoes began eating us. There were multiple mosquitoes throughout the house some were dead on the floor, while others were dead on the countertops. Meanwhile, my daughter and I Got eaten alive by them. When we walked in, it was still pretty warm as though somebody had just been there shortly before and turned the air on. The mirrors were super dirty and dusty a friend of mine that is a realtor on the island brought over some cleaner to clean them. When she walked in with her daughter to help clean the mirrors, they started getting bit too. So we left. By the way, we looked at the bed which was pretty saggy and lumpy. I looked for coffee and found Folgers. I ended up having to make reservations at a local hotel on Daniel Island. I was not going to suffer in a very uncomfortable Airbnb.

Stayed Feb 27, 2025The property was very clean with a nice decor. Daniel Island was a great location, seemed central to downtown Charleston as well as other outlying islands. I would say the property description was a little misleading. This is definitely a studio apt, not a 1 bedroom. That being said there was plenty of room, it was just all in one large room other than the small kitchenette.

Stayed Feb 19, 2025Nice place. Clean. Is a little deceiving that it says one bedroom and pictures make it look like so but it is living room/bedroom all one big open room. Good kitchen, however small things like hand towel and measuring cups would make it easier to use. Lots of steps to get up to apartment, my husband slipped and fell down them early morning with wet weather. Broke his ankle.

Stayed Nov 22, 2024We were on our way to Charleston when the owner reached out to tell us that we could not stay the first night at the apartment due to tile work being done??? We were refunded one nights stay. We rented a hotel room for the first night, and were told we could check in on Saturday morning. I reached out Saturday morning to see what time we could check in and the owner said we could come on over so we packed our car again and were in the hotel parking lot when the owner text again and said she would have to cancel the whole weekend because of a leak in the bathroom. The owner did refund the whole weekend and I understand that some thing are out of our control, however, my husband and I had rented the apartment well in advance to celebrate our anniversary, we had planned to stay 4 nights, over 3 hours away from home, and now we have no where to stay. The reason I rented from VRBO was so we would not have to stay in a hotel...We did find a nice place to stay after searching most of Saturday to find it, but it all worked out and we enjoyed our time together. I don't think I would ever consider staying at this place in the future, Please ignore the scores on the questions listed above!. The way the review is set up you HAVE to answer. Maybe there should be other choices on the questionnaire. I hope others have a better experience than we did. I learned a lot from this experience and I hope the owner did too. Best wishes.
