Edinburgh Castle Hideaway, Lawnmarket, Royal Mile - 2 mins walk to the Castle!

The location was amazing. You are right in the heart of old town and on the royal mile. We were there for Hogmanay and the parade came right past the apartment and for new years we walked up about 200 yards to the castle and watched the fireworks. The owners were great and helpful to store bags when we arrived into town early. The place was perfect for our group of 8 and had everything we needed. Would definitely come back and stay!!!

This apartment could not be more ideally located for a proper introduction to the most iconic Edinburgh landmarks. In addition, the building itself has a significant place in Scottish history, as it is part of James Court and was once home to the famous philosopher David Hume. The apartment was clean, nicely appointed and, for the most part, comfortable. The hosts were courteous and easily reachable. We were surprised to realize that the second toilet in the apartment was extremely compact, not suited for anyone of above-average height. Space in a few of the bedrooms, such as the bunk beds, was very limited, especially for adults. We understood that these constraints could be attributed to the layout of this centuries-old building, but we had to admit to being a bit surprised, based on the description and the rental price. Otherwise, this apartment was ideal and helped to provide me and my family with some wonderful memories of our vacation in Scotland.

Washer/dryer was appreciated but was very slow. We needed more full baths. All in all we had an enjoyable time.

Everything about our stay was amazing! The location can’t be beat. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. We will definitely recommend and stay here again!

We loved staying here. It is in a really great location with shops all around and only a couple minute walk to popular attractions in all directions. Only issues were the beautiful church in front was under construction (nothing the owners can do about that) and I wouldn’t call the second bathroom a half bath more like a toilet closet.

Location location location. If you are looking to stay in the heart of Edinburgh this is the place. You are a staircase away from the Royal mile, and steps away from Edinburgh Castle, Victoria street and a list of other sites. Too many witching walking distance to list. The flat was very cozy and well furnished. The only thing that wasn’t provided were wash clothes. We had six adults in our group and we were all very comfortable and happy with the accommodations. Keep in mind this isn’t a five star hotel but for a large group that rents houses frequently we would definitely recommend.

Very easy communication, great location for everything. The only surprise was there were no toiletries provided like soap, shampoo and conditioner for the showers . Very minor inconvenience but US travelers should be aware .
