Docks + Balcony: Peaceful River Abode in Dunnellon

Two couples spending a weekend in Dunnellon loved this 2bd/2ba upstairs apartment for its spacious layout, fully equipped kitchen and laundry and wonderful view of the Withlacoochee River. We were able to do an all day kayak trip from the dock on one day and an 11 mile bike ride on the next. We walked to 2 great restaurants/bars and boated to another. There was easy canoe and kayak rental options right next door so once we parked on Friday evening, we didn’t need to use our vehicles for the rest of the stay! The dining table was the perfect size for meals and games and the 2 sofa arrangement in the living room was spacious and comfortable as well. A local boating outfitter does use the side drive and launch for its pick-up spot, but we weren’t really inconvenienced by it as I guess the peak season hadn’t started yet and we were out being active ourselves. The large balcony had a gas grill we didn’t use, a table and comfy seating and hummingbird feeders that provided quite the show with the 3 hummingbirds that frequented them. We listened to the frog symphony while the full moon hung over the river our first evening- it was magical! The beds were comfy and an array of Suave toiletries were provided as well as dish detergent, trash bags, kitchen and bath linens, salt& pepper, paper products, olive oil/cooking spray and coffee filters for the drip coffee maker. There is not a dishwasher and the refrigerator doesn’t have an ice maker, but there are ice trays and the water good!

The pictures are misleading, looks like they've been taken 5+ years ago when it was newer. The apartment and balcony need a deep clean, there are dead bugs in all the screens- its unpleasant to look out the windows because of it. Outside needs touch up paint. Also the ramp is shared with a kayak rental company so there are people/trucks coming and going through the yard area.

The property was not clean! Could not enjoy the view of the river as the sliding glass doors were awful! They had not been cleaned and bugs everywhere, dead and alive. The floors had not been cleaned and there was dog hair noticeable. Def needs some updating and more cleaniness.

We loved this little river house. It was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. We loved it so much that we booked for an extra night to extend our stay. I really want to give a shoutout to Bobby who help us out when we accidently locked ourselves out on Saturday. We called him and told him what happened and he was there in less than 10 mins with a spare key. He definitely saved our weekend! Thank you so much, Bobby.

We enjoyed our stay here! It was a great location and a a cozy home. Could use updating. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping!

My Wife, Daughter and I stayed at this home this past weekend and had an amazing and relaxing time. The home is perfectly located on the Rainbow River and made for a wonderful get away. There was a little mix up with the booking but the Evolve team and even owners of the property were extremely prompt to reach out and make everything right and handled everything with the utmost customer service. We will definitely be staying here again!
