D&J's Coastal Secret- Massive Views

The facilities are awesome.Hosts very friendly.The drive way is not for the faint hearted but we managed. Maybe not for us older folks.But we are all different.

Great place to stay, warm welcoming hosts with Doug and Jan Spectacular views - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

An excellently set out Bach .The amenities were second to none, great kitchen appliances, living/dining area very comfy, bathroom plenty of towels and toiletries and the most comfy bed. Plus very good outdoor furniture to seat and enjoy the seaview and Kapiti Island. On arrival met by Jan explained everything and had atray of cheese and biscuits bottle of beer and wine ,plus cant forget Dougs home made Eggplant Churtney yummie. If you are looking for a place to relax then we would highly recommend D & Js Coastal Secert.

Beach views are panoramic. Very restful and just what we needed for 4 days. Everything we needed in flat. Enjoyed the chutney n crackers. Walked beach and fished. Nearby are good eating places at Raumati.Hosts were lovely. Thank you for the restful space. Kind regards

From the moment Jan met us and made us welcome we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is immaculate, romantic with fabulous views over the sea to the horizon. On our first day we could see the top of the South Island, Te Wai Pounamu and the Kaikouras.....heavenly. Jan and Doug had supplied essentials such as coffee and tea plus breakfast cereals and the pièce de rèsistance Doug's chutney. Thank you.

Great weekend break - lovely apartment in great location. Lovely beach walks and easy walking to cafe. Fabulous views and great deck to relax on. Very comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen - everything that's needed for a great break away.

Just what i needed.

We enjoyed this location, and accommodation. The host were easy going and helpful.

Everything it says on the tin, terrific apartment with wonderful views , was advised about the steep climb from the street .

This was a super relaxing, sunny and peaceful mini stay. Of note is the cleanliness of the accommodation. This can really make or break a stay for us. Being well appointed and clean was a real bonus on top of those beautiful ocean views.

Varied weather but Great views as the changes occurred. Warm beach with good facilities.

Jan was amazing. Dougs chutney is gorgeous. Perfect weekend getaway from the norm to relax and forget about work. The only downside is the steep drive but Shane negotiated reversing very well. Well worth the stay, thank you Jan and Doug.

Despite the rubbish weather, our 6 night stay at Doug & Jan’s was just what we were looking for!! Of all the motels and B&Bs we have stayed at, this would easily top the list!! Looking forward to our next stay, and will hopefully fluke better weather to allow for more of those amazing beach walks at low tide :-)

Lovely place to escape the city for a few days. The place is modern, clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating, even dropping us off at the station after we checked out! Looking forward to coming back again sometime.

We had a wonderful time, with some lovely sunsets sat on the balcony, and warm and cozy even in June.

We had a great weekend in this very well set up bach. The hosts were really friendly, and made us feel welcome. We were lucky to get to make full use of the deck with beautiful sunset views.

Doug and Jan have a wonderfully cosy and relaxing space to unwind and take in breathtaking views of the seascape. We were so impressed with everything in this property and the lovely attention to detail in the quality of linen, complementary treats, comfy bed and futon and homewares was so appreciated, not to mention Doug’s amazing eggplant relish! Thanks for making our stay so relaxing and carefree. Lovely hosts and great communication, would highly recommend.
