Stayed Aug 2, 2025The host was not responding to messages about our booking as they had pulled their property from the platform in January (we booked in April for an August stay). After three hours of trying to contact Vrbo, waiting on hold, being cut off, call backs promised and not delivered, we were advised we could rebook and Vrbo would cover up to 150% of the value of our original booking. During the first week of Edinburgh fringe, last minute bookings of equivalent properties were now available for around 500% of the original booking cost! So I told them they would need to make the arrangements. Vrbo offered us an alternative city centre property which was a windowless hotel room, no kitchen facilities, living area or parking (as was included with our original booking). I have no idea why Vrbo didn't pick up on their listing error following a series of complaints about the same issue we encountered!

Stayed Jun 18, 2025I am reaching out regarding a concerning experience I had with VRBO. In January, the total cost for my apartment booking was deducted, but I encountered challenges when I attempted to modify my booking before June 4th. Despite my efforts to communicate with VRBO for assistance in this matter, there was no response regarding contacting the host or issuing a refund.Upon arrival, locating the apartment proved difficult, and I experienced trouble getting in touch with VRBO for further guidance. After 90 minutes of searching, I was advised to secure alternative accommodations at my own expense. With the help of a local resident, I eventually found a hotel room, albeit without cooking facilities, but I have yet to receive any reimbursement for the difference in cost.As a senior on a limited income, I am concerned about how this situation was handled and whether it reflects the company’s values toward customers like myself. I would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to processing a refund for my booking. Thank you for your understanding.
