‘The Larches’ is one of several very nice, reasonably new and well furnished to a high standard, ‘barn conversion’ properties situated barely 3/4 mile outside St.Agnes. This very clean and comfortable property has everything the holiday maker is likely to need to enjoy this home-from-home location. The walk into the village of St. Agnes and the Trevaunance Cove beach does not have a footpath unfortunately so great care needs to be taken when walking this quite busy roadway. This, however, should not deter anyone from booking this very nice property.

After many years staying around Padstow we were looking for a place to stay that would give easy access to explore further West. The Larches is perfect for that, easy access to the A30 and great for exploring (though note many Cornish roads are packed in summer these days). We also love walking and exploring, the St Agnes area is lovely with great coastal walking. The property is to a high standard and had virtually all we could need, very happy with the standard presented and the efficient help provided by Cornish Hideaways for a few small queries. Small points to note: 1) While the location is great if you’re using a car. For walking it should be noted there are no pavement access to the the small holiday development the property is located on. The road is the main St Agnes route to the A30 so is busy with the 40mph limit treated, it seems, as a minimum! In my view too dangerous to walk along. There is a public footpath across fields immediately opposite the entrance allowing a route to town/the coast. Fine for us as the weather was dry but would probably be pretty muddy if not. I do think the Cornish Hideaways advert for the Larches should point this out as it could spoil anyone’s holiday if walking from the door is planned. NB there is also a bus stop right outside which might be an option. 2). Not sure if it is a Covid factor but the property had virtually no ‘basics’ provided bar a small pack of bin liners and dishwasher tablets, e.g salt but no pepper, 1 toilet roll per bathroom, washing up liquid for 2or 3 bowls worth. Cornish Hideaways documentation did say a small pack is provided but we were surprised at the lack of basics compared to other places we’ve rented. It’s OK if you’re shopping once you’ve arrived but if you’ve pre-ordered a food delivery you might find yourself going to the shops anyway for the basics (as did we). 3) 1 point deducted from ‘condition’ as a few surfaces looked dirty (e.g some lounge curtains had muddy marks on the bottom). All in all we really liked the place, quiet and very comfortable with only the neighbouring cows and birdsong as a backdrop to the peace & quiet. NB while the property is in a small holiday development there is plenty of space and we had absolutely no sense of being crowded or disturbed from the other properties around us, definitely not an issue.

We have stayed in another property but choose this one for the outside space. We did manage 2 evenings at the front of the house. The views from the upstairs room are great but the property is affected by flies from the farm which began to affect everyone’s mood, and that’s not a great memory. Perhaps some fly traps around or leaving spray ? Good location for exploring the west coast of Cornwall and perfect for walks or runs to the Beacon and into the village.

Beautifully presented The Larches. As they have built a further two properties we were unsure if it would spoil the location, but it didn’t whatsoever. We were a little disappointed we didn’t receive a welcome package as we have done recently, but we soon stocked up at the supermarket. As arrival time was delayed due to covid we did expect the property to be spotless and although it was very clean I think the cleaner was rushing as we didn’t get access until after 4pm. The Larches had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Had a fabulous stay and will be re booking for next year. Thank you!

Holiday Home was so lovely, it is in a lovely quiet location . The property has everything you need in a Holiday Home and more. We would definitely book it again as it’s near everywhere we wanted to visit.

We picked the larches as we were holidaying with two sets of parents who also had a cottage at the same location. Barn was easy to find as was ready for 4pm, barn is light and spacious for a family of 4. very easy access in St Agnes, 15-20 min walk. Made use of the barbecue one night and also pizza and fish and chip in St Agnes. Very easy to get back onto A30 to get about. Had electric vehicle - 50kw charger 5 mins away. Would use again.

The property was a great space for a family of four. Because of Covid, we struggled to eat out as often as we would have liked so it was great to have a fantastic kitchen that was well equipped. I’d have liked a bigger bbq outside however. There wasn’t really a sea view, but it was in a peaceful location. A little too far to walk into the village with a 5 and 8 year old. My one concern is there was no where to let our dog off his lead at the property as it was all open and easy access to the road. Therefore each time he needed the toilet we had to go out with him on his lead. We would definitely return without our dog as the house was lovely!
