Stayed Jan 2, 2026We had a wonderful month of January in Spello at this apartment. Stefano is an attentive and reliable host who was very available to help when needed. The apartment was perfect. Stefano has decorated with local Umbrian details. The beds are very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. The living/dining space is ample for 3-4 adults. We had 2 couples for 7 days and then 3 people for 10 days, there was lots of room for all. The town of Spello is quiet, lovely, peaceful, but there was a lot to do. If you are a hiker, walker or biker Spello is your dream location with many trails outside the door. The train station was easy to navigate and allowed for day trips to Rome, Assisi, Perugia, and parts beyond. Although many restaurants and shops in Spello were closed during January we still had lovely lunches at the ones which were open - (Le Cantina, Teresa's) and aperitifs at the bars in the lower part of town. The grocery store on Spello Main Street has all you need for homemade meals. We LOVED Spello and were so sad to leave, and we LOVED this 'comfortable apartment which allowed us to live in ethnic Umbria.

Stayed Sep 24, 2024I'm so glad I chose this apartment for my 7 week stay in Spello. The apartment was well equipped and Stefano was kind enough to purchase a drip coffee maker so I didn't have to use the little Espresso maker on the stovetop. There was even and iron and a small washing machine for laundry. The main bedroom was very large and the bed was comfortable; the apartment clean. I felt very safe there. I'm particular about cleanliness and I appreciated that the dishes in the apartment were a complete set and like new, and not a hodgepodge of mismatched flea market bargains. There is a nice little park area not too far from the apartment and the neighbors who lived in the area were friendly. Spello is a lovely town and busy with tourists, especially on the weekend; so there was noise from the streets and the B&B above but that's to be expected in the old town. There were a couple of fans in the apartment which helped to deaden the noise if I needed to. The wireless worked great. The true blessing was renting from Stefano and Ana, who were so helpful and kind; going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my stay was comfortable and my needs met. Stefano even took me to the supermarket a couple of times since I had a prolonged stay and didn't have a vehicle. That was incredibly helpful. If I return to Spello someday, I would want to stay in this apartment again. I guess in the end, that says it all.

Stayed Apr 23, 2023Beautiful apartment at the tip top of historic Spello. Close to everything. Parking was a challenge until we connected with the owner. Property is lovely but would not be good for the mobility-challenged.

Stayed May 28, 2018My husband and I fell in love with Spello! What an incredibly beautiful place! Stefano was a gracious host and his apartment was impeccably clean and beautifully renovated! The details everywhere were so skillfully done! This apartment is centrally located and in walking distance to everything. All living areas are well lit and extremely comfortable. A family is living upstairs so you hear them walking around, etc. but they were never loud. There is street noise but only during certain periods of the day. I am particularly sensitive to noise and was only bothered by occasional motorcycles. I highly recommend this apartment!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Prego Stefano for all of your hospitality! Your beautiful home and all of your recommendations for local treks and special touches (the wine, biscotti, fruit, coffee, olive oil) were such a delight! The home was the best location possible. We loved being so close the all the restaurants, shops, museum and nooks and crannies that Spello has to offer. It was an amazing walk to Assisi as well as Copplelino taking the path that Stefano recommended (via the historic aquaduct that he architecturally restored...that water was sooo refreshing) through the olive groves and past the many wineries. Your home in Spello will always be one of the highlights of our travels and so glad we celebrated our 10th anniversary in your hidden gem of Spello.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My husband and I had the pleasure of being able to stay in Spello for almost the entire month of October. We enjoyed our discovery of the nearby towns and countryside. We rented a car in Foligno which is conveniently located just a few minutes away and is a necessity to do the area justice. Spello is conveniently located in the heart of Umbria and day trips to surrounding towns such as Assisi, Montefalco, Spoleto, Bevagna, Trevi are just minutes away. It is also within a short driving distance to many places in Tuscany. You will not run out of interesting places to visit. The apartment is clean, neat and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with all the conveniences you would have at your home. Stefano and Anna are wonderful hosts. Always concerned about our needs. Stefano was a great source of knowledge about the local area and suggested many day trip ideas as well as hiking Mount Subascio. There is a supermarket down in the base of Spello that met all our grocery needs. Spello itself is quiet. There are a few wine bars and excellent restaurants for dinner, but if you are looking for nightlife, i.e, clubs or bars for late night they are non existent. The people of Spello are warm and friendly. Market day is on Wednesday and it has a wide array of produce and dry goods. We especially loved to get a porchetta sandwich for lunch each Wednesday which only cost E2.50. We would not hesitate to return to Spello and Stefano and Anna's apartment. In fact we are hoping to be able to return next fall to do it all over again! Carol and Rip
