This little hide away has great potential. On the surface it was nice, you know? Beautiful kitchen, all utensils, quiet location- on the beach. But,.. landscaping had been ignored. There was a hole in the deck, so I couldn’t reach yummy blackberries, & slugs & spiders everywhere. The deposit was $1900! A little steep for 2-3. nights in a cabin. Then, my husband left his pants & shirt in a closet. The charge for returning it was $75 plus $40 shipping. ? Maybe that’s reasonable price, I thought it was too high. Great little store/ restaurant, check their hrs., they fluctuate. Ferry was easy & fast. Cabin was pretty clean but needed new shower curtain, toilet seat, ( soft close), & wood railings up the stairs had sharp- points where they were fastened to the wall. They should be filed down or covered w/ something. Very cool idea, and upstairs is super fun. Kids would dig it! 8 yrs & up? A lot of parent supervision needed to set safety rules. Manager- owner? was very nice to deal with. ?
Beautiful property, great appliances and wll sticked kitchen supplies. welcome wine/meat and cheese tray nice touch! Nice furnishings, bedding! Close to ferry- the general store was fun/had live music. There were some minor issues with deck area (bees, hole in one board- over grown plant with sharp stickers). No direct view of ocean from inside, minimal on porch - no access to view or beach if house is rented- we were there few days before house rented so were able to enjoy beach and view!!
This small home shares property with a larger home, which was occupied part of the time we were there. The waterfront itself was not available while the larger home was rented. Daughter and I were impressed with the home's cleanliness and updated kitchen and bath. Kitchen was well equipped, and there are 3 comfortable beds. Host was communicative. We had a wonderful time and have already talked about returning.
We added this guest cottage to our reservation for the main house and it gave us - 12 family members - plenty of room to spread out. Everything about this property was perfect - location, space, accessibility of host.
we went in the winter so it was a little cold, but it was sub freezing outside. the views are amazing. right on the water. the island is a very wholesome place to relax. the ferry ride was quite an adventure for my children. if your looking for a place away from technology and the hustle and bustle of a city you cant go wrong here. would love to come back in the summer.
We had the guest house in addition to the main house for our family holiday gathering. It provided a lovely little space for extra sleepers and a quiet respite from the chaos of the main house. The kitchen here is well appointed, and the cozy place stands alone as a dandy little rental.
As Tahoe evacuees from the fires we sought clean air and found it on a beautiful stay in the San Juans! The difficult communication was an app issue and not the owner's. I had to bring my dog and was charged $400 additional to the regular cleaning which I felt was extreme for this tiny place. I discussed with the owner prior to my stay, but we needed to find a place and didnt have many options. The property is still a work-in-progress in terms of the yard and some of the interior finishes, but the welcome package was super nice and very much appreciated!!!!! Oh , please note, the island is only available by ferry and the $20 charges every time you leave the island adds up pretty quickly. The last ferry runs at 8:30 p.m which we were not aware of and missed our 1st night stay and had to stay in a small hotel on the other side of the ferry run. There is nothing on Guemes but a small general store that has the most basic provisions and a delicious little restaurant with a phenomenal bakery.
We enjoyed our stay! Kitchen was great, plenty of space in the house, just as described. Welcome treats were fun! The property has a split A/C unit, which was not listed in the description, but was nice to have for the loft area which tends to be warmer.
We rented both properties for our larger group, and this house was a great addition…well-appointed, with all the amenities of the larger home (laundry, full kitchen, TV) and ample sleeping space. Nice decor, with a couple of outdoor spaces for private relaxation. Very peaceful.
This property is beautiful. I loved that it’s all open, made it feel like a family slumber party. It only has one bathroom and that was an issue. The gardens and the wildlife were spectacular!
