Property managers were very professional and welcoming. We appreciated the upgrade offered to us and we enjoyed our stay at the Snopes. Breakfast was home cooked and very tasty. The only downside is that the property is located on a busy intersection and it is a bit noisy.

Very nice room in a preserved older building with exposed brick and local charm. Cindy checked us in and also checked on us daily- she was very kind and helpful. Wonderful location! Only issues are to be expected in an older building such as hearing the footsteps from the room above us.

We were greeted by Natalie who helped us check in! She was awesome personified! The Lodge grounds were immaculately clean inside and out as was all of Charleston! The line for our rental was an hour plus wait so we took an Uber! We did not need the car! The location allowed us to walk EVERYWHERE!

The Lodge Alley Inn was beautiful and spacious. We never rented a car because everything was walking distance! I think because of the buildings age, some of the doors are loud and hard to open/ close. Definitely more of a structural maintenance issue than a host issue. We loved our stay and hope to be back!

Our room was large and very nice with a lot of southern colonial flair, including old wood floor, fireplace, high ceiling and ornate crown moulding. The service at the front desk and concierge desks was great and very helpful. The location in the French quarter was close enough to almost everything we wanted to see, so we were able to walk everywhere. The only negative is our room was on the street side of the building, and sometimes we heard noisy cars late at night. I mentioned this when we were asked by staff how we were enjoying our stay, and they offered us ear plugs, which I declined -- it wasn't that bad. In summary: nice place, good location, helpful staff, and good service.

Excellent stay at Abby Lodge! The location is perfect — an easy walk to the French Quarter and close to everything you’d want to see in Charleston. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and full of helpful information about the area. Our suite was thoughtfully laid out with everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the sitting room was a relaxing spot to unwind. Having a full kitchen was a huge plus — we loved being able to make our own breakfast. The shower was great too, and the provided shampoo, conditioner, and body gel were all good quality.Highly recommend

Property through VRBO was not accurately described. There was not heated pool or outside shower. For the cost of this room we definitely were overcharged. 3 women in 1 queen bed and sofa bed was not acceptable. It took 40 minutes to check in. Girl at front desk was trying to get a room with 2 queen beds. We were informed that property owners were the only ones that got those rooms. The lodge alley inn was beautiful. Sleeping arrangements were not great.

Wrong dates were given to the property manager by the VRBO host. This particular Inn is operated by Hilton. The room we rented is a time share property. We paid for three nights, specifically for Tuesday until Friday morning. When we arrived on Tuesday, the Inn said that we were marked as a NO SHOW for Monday night. They were given the dates of Monday until Thursday morning. We were able to stay there on Tuesday and Wednesday, but had to vacate on Thursday. The host refused to take my phone call so I spoke with a VRBO manager. She claimed there was no wrong doing and there was nothing I could do. I then began texting with the host and he also said that he sent a confirmation email with the correct dates. I reiterated that the Inn was given the wrong dates and that I wanted to be reimbursed for the one night, since we were only able to stay for two nights. No compensation was given. I am proceeding with multiple avenues to report this wrong doing. Hopefully my credit card company will be able to get my money back.

The unit is now part of a hotel managed by Hilton Resorts. This happened one week before our arrival. The front desk, concierge, and valet were incrediably professional and accommodating. The host actually called us directly on our first day there to ask if everything was ok - a nice approach. The unit is ideally located in the French Quarter - walking distance to the attractions, wonderful restaurants, and even a full size grocery store. We loved our stay.

Located in the French quarter of Charleston made everything very accessible and easily walkable.... Close to restaurants, rainbow row, the market, the waterfront, etc. Be aware that parking is scarce in Charleston and the fee for non-owner valet parking is 50 daily. Our room was very pretty and comfortable with a great view of the street. I realize this is a time share location so maybe I should have known the pictures on the listing aren’t necessarily the room you get. The pictures showed 2 beds (full or queen) but we got 1 queen. It wasn’t a big deal, we just weren’t expecting that. The location was fantastic with many restaurants within sight of the inn. Property was very nice and amenities were as listed. The staff were very nice and helpful as well. I did read about the street noise…we occasionally heard the emptying of the trash cans but that was fleeting…what was troublesome was the constant noise in the room that sounded like a hair dyer or blender or sander or something of that nature that didn’t stop…eventually we were able to sleep through it but ugh! (The upstairs neighbors were quite noisy….but that was them, not the resort). The hallways that have a few stairs could use hand rails for the older folks….the shower could use a bit more water pressure…and the space that houses the coffeemaker, etc. could use a sink so we didn’t have to clean everything in the bathroom….these are nitpicking items, I know, but you asked. Overall, the stay was enjoyable and the location was great! Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.

The location on East Bay is superb! Very close to a public pier where you can watch dolphins and sea birds, and surrounded by good restaurants. I found the neighborhood to be less frantic than King Street, but close to all the sights. Our room was very large and well appointed, it even had a gas fireplace. Sound insulation could be better. We could hear revelers and traffic on the street below our windows. It could be a problem if you are a light sleeper. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked this place and would stay here again.

We just checked out of a two night stay here. First, it is located right in the heart of the French Quarter of Charleston. You are mere steps from virtually everything. We were about a block or so from the Charleston City Market. We were surrounded by an array of restaurants and shops. Parking is about 50 per night, which I find routine for larger cities. We were walking distance to everything we did, including arranged tours. So if you are not on a driving tour and coming to visit only Charleston, you could absolutely just take a taxi or Uber to/from the airport and not miss having a car at all. The room was large, with a separate living room from the bedroom. There was a coffee nook, with a microwave, small fridge with freezer, and some basic dishes/cups/glasses. The bathroom had a sink and vanity separated from the area that housed both the toilet and shower. The water pressure was decent. There was a pretty courtyard area and a parlor off the lobby where coffee was served in the morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would 100% stay here again.

You can feel the history of this place and its location. From the awesome wood floors to the high ceilings, it has all you could imagine for a spot smack dab in this historic city. My wife and I enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and watching out the beautiful windows to the street below. The location is within walking distance to the waterfront, city market, and unlimited shops and restaurants!

I booked a room on the app. The room was nothing like what was pictured. It so happened that the room I was given was directly above the restaurant and the noise could be heard up to 11:00pm. I was told the parking garage was 48 dollars a day by the clerk and the valet was only 50 so it made sense to use the valet. Come to find out I was lied to and the garage that was across the street was only 24 dollars a day. I guess there is nothing more to expect from Charleston but that kinda ticked me off.

Have been wanting to get to Charleston for awhile and Christmas seemed to be a great time to go. Our room met all our expectations! Big enough to move around and loved the gas fireplace. We did get some street noise, but any music playing was done by 11:00pm. Everybody was very friendly! This location is close to a wide assortment of restaurants and able to walk to majority of Charleston destinations. Will keep this place in first place for next visit to Charleston.

The unit was in great condition. Recently renovated. It is a historic building so there were very skeaky floors. The only thing we didn’t agree with is there was no mention that the unit was a time share.

You cannot beat the location and the staff is great. This is more of a hotel room than a typical Vrbo. There is no kitchen or dining area and no laundry facilities. Housekeeping is an extra fee. Upon arrival, we were told that we would have to change rooms for our last night. The owner wanted nothing to do with helping with that. He said that any stay over 4nights can have a room change so be careful if you want more than 4 nights. We were able to work it out with Sam, the manager, who is GREAT! We got past that and had a fine time because it is a great location within walking distance of so much.

Loved the location of this place! We were told not to book a rental car when visiting downtown Charleston - that was a good suggestion. We took an Uber from the airport and walked or hopped on the free shuttle to get around downtown. Our room was spacious enough for me and my husband. When he slept in, I was able to hang out in the living room. We both thought the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. Our room was not in a preferred location of the building. Our balcony looked straight out at humming mechanical units. So we could only see the courtyard off to the side. We didn't mind since we didn't spend much time on the balcony. Furthermore, in the evenings we could also hear music coming from a nearby restaurant. We did expect some pressure to attend a time share presentation - no one mentioned anything like that to us. Finally, we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff - we were greeted every time we went into or out of the building.

This is a great location to enjoy Charleston and our room was clean and mostly comfortable. I booked our visit for 4 days but somehow it was separated into two, 2 day reservations which we didn't notice until we checked it. This was not indicated at the time of booking. Luckily, the front desk was able to adjust this and we did not have to move. The main building where our unit was located seemed oddly unlevel. Our bathroom had a distinctive slope down to a single very low sink. The small area where the coffee maker, microwave, etc. is located was so small, we had to relocate items in order to have any space to deal with food. Lastly, the walls are not insulted much and we recommend ear plugs if you don't want to be bothered by music from the restaurant next door or family's with children in nearby rooms who are up early and bouncing off the walls. Not sure I would stay here again, but it is a great location.

We love staying here for the location and the old feel of the building and rooms. This time we were given a room on Bay St and the noise starts early at 5 am. If I had a choice I would not choose it again - the courtyard is much better. The rooms there are always nice and clean, but this time it looked like it had not been vacuumed. everything else was great!
