Charming apartment in a chalet located at the top of the Clotes piste above Sauze d'Oulx in a wonderful area for meeting and lounging in the sun or eating in the selection of bars and restaurants during the day. This is also a pick up/drop off point for the main ski schools and where the departure of the main chirlift to the top of mountains is.
A fantastic starting and finishing point for your ski adventures on the 400 km of pistes of the Milky Way as far as Montgènevrein France.

The entire chalet style apartment is wood panelled and furnished in typical ski lodge decor. The main entrance leads directly into a cozy lounge area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pistes. Large flat screen for Dvd viewing on large, comfy sofa. Walk past bathroom to second lounge with sofa, arm chairs, Tv, dining table and custom made open plan kitchen. Sliding doors lead out to open private decking off which you step directly on to the snow ( at the moment sliding door is not in use, please ask ) .
Stairs take you down to the master bedroom with double bed and with small lounge area ensuite. Glass doors lead out to a private sun lounging area and offering views of the amazing Chaberton mountains. (This area is warmer than upstairs decking so although no access upstairs to the exterior, you can access this way)
Separate bunk room featuring four custom made full size bunk beds.
Wood panelled bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet.

Winter
GETTING TO OUR HOME ON THE DAY OF ARRIVAL AND RETURNING TO THE VILLAGE ON DAY OF DEPARTURE
Our home is at the top of one of the main pistes called Clotes. YOU NEED TO TAKE THE CHAIRLIFT which is running between 9am and 4:45 pm from the village to our place and you can use your ski pass to use it or buy a ticket up. After this time getting up and down to the village depends on the snow conditions. Obviously in full season there is only the chair lift up and down SO YOU MUST PLAN YOUR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE ACCORDINGLY We are very close to where the Clotes chair lift takes you to.
When chairlift isn’t running you walk up to Baite Clotes or down to the village . It’s obviously down hill for reaching the village and uphill to return. It’s a pretty walk through woods for about 10/20 minutes and then down the steep Clotes hill for another 10/20 minutes (down/up times ) but again depends on fitness levels :) Again, shopping can be done using the chairlift as supermarket is very close the the departure of chairlift and you use your ski pass. It’s very important you consider these points before booking as otherwise you could be disappointed.
We have amazing restaurants up on the pistes and bars for apres ski drinks and meals. These restaurants are VERY BUSY so worth booking your meals well before arriving if you come during peak season to avoid disappointment. I can give you suggestions and information.
There is unfortunately no skidoo service in our area.

We have self check in so you either pick up keys from our housekeeper in the village before taking the chairlift or arrange something else. I will inform you before your arrival.
So when you arrive in Sauze, do some shopping g if you need to, drive to the Clotes chairlift and unload your bags, park your car in the car parks near the chair lift and then buy tickets. Load your things on the chair lift and travel up to the top. From there it’s a few minutes walk to the chalet . Our chalet is behind the Bar La Sosta which you will see just up from where you get off the chair lift. See Check In information on this listing.
We have a charge for late check in so please inform us if you know you are arriving after 18:00 and remember you will have to walk up from where you leave the car as the chair lift isn’t running. We will give you clear instructions for arrival.

Summer
There is a road which leads up to our chalet from Sauze Village and on road non-private parking is normally available.

Fantastic experience. The host was wonderful, quick to respond and give very clear instructions. The chalet is superb, the most incredible location in the snow next to the first chair lift. Very easy to unload luggage at chairlift, park car (we found free on street parking up the road around 4pm), have the luggage and people take the chairlift up and walk 100 metres with them to the chalet. The house is so picturesque, peaceful and aesthetic. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, 2 fantastic bathrooms, hot water and heating and WiFi making it totally comfortable and luxurious for the snow. Highly recommend. Thank you Nicola!

One of the best stays in a ski resort that we have ever had. We are seasoned skiers with 10 years of experience of resorts in Italy and France and this was by far the best. Our Hosts were exceptional, the apartment is gorgeous, perfect for a couple (us) or a family group with kids who can share the capacious bunk room (our kids for a long weekend). Located on the piste, proper ski in and out, shops, bars and essentials an easy ski lift down the hill and back up again, and when the lift is closed, in the evenings a good brisk walk uphill under the star lit sky. You could also book one of the mountain restaurants above the apartment and 'skidoo' to your supper and home again. Amazing, thank you so much Nicola and Filippo, we will be back. Sadie & Charles

Our family loved our stay in Nicola's chalet. It is the most perfect ski in ski out location, you can be first up the mountain as the property is at the top of the first Clotes chairlift, have an apres ski drink at one of the neighbouring mountain restaurants and of course no carrying skis to and from the slope. This does mean that you need to get luggage and shopping up the chair lift which involves a bit more planning than if you were staying in the village. We were met by Nicola's representative at the start of the stay who got all our bags up on arrival and the lift attendants slowed the lift down on our occasional trips to the supermarket (it's not a massive shop but has all the essentials although we brought most food with us). Do remember to time your trip to the village so you can catch the lift back up before it closes. The chalet itself is stylish and cosy - a lovely setting to relax after a day on the slopes. Nicola was very helpful with restaurant recommendations - we had a skidoo ride to one and night skiing back from another during our week but stayed in most of the evenings. Our first trip to the ski area and we really enjoyed it - we hope to return soon.

Nicola's property is located just at the top of the Clotes chairlift. As long as you are a little bit prepared this is a fantastic place to ski from; it's literally on the slopes so there's no carrying skis at all, and is right next to a couple of bars and restaurants (some of which are open in the evening if you book in advance). Nicola was really helpful before and during the stay and advised on the best way to get up to the chalet and down at the end of our stay. She helped arrange a skidoo trip down at the end as one of our party had injured his knee. It's possible to walk down to town in the evenings as long as you're in good shape as the walk is about 20 mins down and 30 back up. This shouldn't put you off though, as you have no effort at all when getting up to go skiing in the morning. The apartment has a balcony which gets the evening sun and is a great place for an apres beer. All in all, I'd definitely recommend the property and if I am ever back in Sauze I would stay again.

We loved the mini chalet and would definitely come back. There were some challenges though. The transfers were not very easy, we had to book a table at a restaurant and rely on them bringing our cases up by skidoo on arrival (we arrived in the eve) and lugged heavy cases down a chairlift on departure. Bringing food up was a complete hassle and having been told there were 3 restaurants open for dinner within walking distance we were disappointed that there was only 1 and it was fully booked all our stay. Had we known this we would have brought some food with us, the choice in the local supermarket was limited and pricey anyway, which would have been transferred by skidoo on arrival. We were told there would be a quad bike to use to get to town and this was unavailable. The walk was much further than was said, through woods, icy and in the dark and no info or map as to the best route to take. That said, we used Caio Pais restaurant 3 times, great food and transport by skidoo quite magical. The pistes were excellent, big open runs and not a soul on them. The weather was fantastic. Ski to France involved lots of lifts but worth doing. Don't let the challenges put you off, you just need to be organised and have the right information. Great trip

This is a very beautiful apartment in an idyllic setting on the mountain hill. Ski in/out. Shopping a little challenging. Only reachable by chairlift. Would definitely come back.
