Stayed Feb 27, 2026I’m going to preface this by saying we are a senior couple traveling by car with a small dog - so that really colors the success of our staying here. First of all, the location is great. You are literally 100 yards from the Taos Square. Parking is not bad, there’s a city lot immediately in front of the apartment. The apartment is exactly as advertised. It’s small but very cute and has a totally authentic Taos/Santa Fe vibe. So here’s the deal - if you are traveling lite, without much luggage/gear and you will be eating out every meal, you’ll find this place great. For us, with two big suitcases and all the dog gear it was a bit small. And, with the dog, we are usually look for take out to eat in the room. The good news with this apartment is that there are two great restaurants on the same block, just a bit cramped eating in the room and no good way to deal with dirty dishes.

Stayed Sep 24, 2025Location good (near plaza). Quirky charm, a bit overdone (to lure buyers). Dos & don’ts notes scattered around (e.g. “don’t adjust blinds” - the sun shines directly into room 8:00am. 1. “Free parking” misleading, notified the day before that city of Taos now honors parking meters; the church across the street offered $5 parking. Upon arrival, met another woman (Joy) who claimed to know nothing about town rules. I showed town map of pay/free parking areas. I think she just wanted to play the “not my problem, not responsible” game. I called Melissa and explained deciding to park in free library/town hall lot. She said she didn’t mention it since few blocks away. 2. Cleanliness subjective. My wife super sensitive to dust; called Melissa to request bedding change & tidying. She agreed. Upon returning, although some improvement, my wife not entirely happy did some mopping herself. The housekeeper came with fresh pillow cases and was confronted by my wife expressing her concerns. The housekeeper said if we didn’t like it we could go somewhere else. 3. Hospitality lacking. Unlike other 2 VRBO accommodations, check-out time is 10:00am. This slipped us up, still packing when the cleaning girl walked in on me undressed. She apologized and left, soon followed by a loud knock on the door by Joy. She irritatedly advised that “check-out time is 10:00. I need you out of here.” 4. Wifi minor configuration issue, email iMap server port blocked. Turn off Wifi to receive email.

Stayed Apr 30, 2024We liked the location and was within walking distance to shopping and dining. It was older adobe structure which we liked. What we didn’t like was marginally safe electric outlets and main door locks. The outlets were poorly maintained and hung loose. The door locks need to be updated and strengthened. Another item that needs to be addressed is that the property was advertised as an efficiency there was no sink in the “kitchen” area. We had to haul water from the bathroom to wash dishes and waste water carried back to the bathroom. With a few noted exceptions our stay was nice and comfortable.

Stayed Sep 27, 2023Funky and small, as advertised. Close to everything and a decent price for the location. There was a fair bit of dust in the corners and on some of the things displayed for sale. A bit odd that the only sink for the “kitchenette” is in the bathroom, and is small for washing dishes. Old and creaky floors, and the front door doesn’t close very securely. But overall a good choice if you want to be close to the old town centre and are on a budget.

Stayed Feb 22, 2023informed owner of a storm that would not allow me to drive to Taos on the scheduled day and asked if we could shift my dates which she emailed that she had done - then she kicked me out on the day that I was supposed to stay and refused to refund money. I paid for 3 nights and only stayed 2 nights but she wouldn't honor her word

Stayed May 23, 2026Really loved this cute/quirky place and had great location in Taos, easy walking distance to everything but still not much traffic noise being just off the main square. Bed was very comfortable too (more so than most other places we've rented in the past) and paid city lot across the street wasn't a problem since we happened to be staying only Sat night, before Sunday free parking.

Stayed May 22, 2026Melissa's place was quaint and clean. We enjoyed the tucked away courtyard in the back of #110 and it was nice to be so close in to town. Melissa was very good at communicating and quick to respond to any of our concerns. With that said, we had a wonderful time in Taos.

Stayed Apr 6, 2026I stayed for a week with my boyfriend and our dog. I would have appreciated this info before booking. First I’ll start with the pros:PROShistoric adobe building, very coollocation, everything is walkableparking was actually pretty easy to figure outcheck in was easyquirky fun decor CONSblinds don’t cover the windows fully and bed faces them. Sun is blinding in the morning. We didn’t sleep well the whole trip. A privacy screen or full blind coverage would have been the biggest game changer.Dusty condition overall. Didn’t feel super clean.Shower curtain was one of the flimsy ones that sticks to your body if you get too close. Cramped shower, difficult to shave legs if that matters to youNowhere to hang clothes on hangers. Instead of the shelving with decorations, why not an armoire with hangers for guests clothes? Lots of decor taking up space but not many functional things like an iron, etc. A small TV would be nice— on the mantle of the fireplace or something. Or at least some board games available if TV isn’t doable. Overall wouldn’t stay a second time. Def not for an extended stay. We don’t need a lot of space or a kitchenette, but it just wasn’t comfortable or a place we enjoyed hanging out in at night after full days adventuring around Taos.

Stayed Mar 22, 2026The casita was so cute and a great location when it comes to walking to anything accessible. Very close to good restaurants, coffee and even a grocery. The big drawback for us was it was on a main road, so Very loud with traffic. Lots of loud engines, abruptly revving, late into the night. It was almost impossible to sleep, except from about 2-6am. Having to shuffle cars from one lot to another because of one parking lot only being until 8am (overnight), and another from 8-night time was a frustration. No chance to sleep in once finally asleep. Another ebb was thinking it was a kitchenette, but no sink for that little space, so kind of weird to have to get water from the bathroom sink and washing a dish or two was fine, but it wouldn't work if you were there more than a day or two or just ate out for every meal. It was, however a darling place. Pet friendly and easy to check in. The locals were friendly and area was wonderful.

Stayed Jul 11, 2025Really great location near the square. Parking right across the street in the lot is free. The space is roomy but no cooktop so everything needs to be microwaveable or cooked in a toaster oven.It takes a while for the window unit to cool down in the summer but there are ceiling fans so that helps. There are a lot of little beetle like bugs in the windows- they seem to be thriving. Other than that, the space is comfortable and a great spot.

Stayed Jun 13, 2025Charming accommodation in the the heart of Taos. One block off the Plaza, in a generally commercial area, this small street-level apartment is in an old adobe structure with original features (vigas, kiva fireplace, etc.). The space is long and narrow, but very well appointed. Comfortable bed, wonderful shower, table for meals. It is a bit dark because shades are not permitted to be drawn. Parking is available and convenient. Some noise at night from vehicles cruising and street racing. Everything you need -- restaurants/bars, museums, shops, stores -- is within walking distance. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed May 29, 2025My second stay here. Just as charming and fun as the first time. A 2 minute stroll to a great coffee shop, right off the plaza, close to everything! Melissa has all sorts of cool local arty finds on the walls that are for sale at very reasonable prices, I found treasures right there in my room both times. She’s also responsive, helpful a great host. I have relatives in Taos, but I’ll stay here every chance I get, for the privacy. It’s a little adobe oasis. Room was clean, comfy bed, and helpful little handwritten notes here and there. The ONLY downside is a little street noise from the plaza occasionally at night. Local guys still cruise the plaza and rev their big boy engines. I used to be in one of those muscle cars, so I consider it nostalgic. If you want a lovely local experience in a cozy old adobe, this is your spot!

Stayed May 24, 2025Unique efficiency in an ideal location. My husband and I loved it here. We had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding very nice. Cute decor everywhere you looked. We used the fan on the AC to block out outside noise. The location is fantastic as everything was within close proximity. Social House with live music right next door with great drink options and many restaurants a few min away. Loved Taos!!

Stayed Sep 20, 2024This casita is very “Taos”…it’s in an old building so things are rustic. Unfortunately, the Main Street through downtown Taos is undergoing major construction and the detour goes right in front of this property so there’s a lot of traffic noise. Hopefully this construction will be done soon!
