Stayed Feb 11, 2026The house was perfect for exploring New Orleans and going to Mardi Gras. Kitchen and bath were beautifully appointed and very comfortable beds. Super clean. Host was exceptionally helpful and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Very quiet and safe feeling neighborhood with restaurants in walking distance. It's one block off the Canal streetcar line that takes you down to the French quarter or up to City Park. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Oct 22, 2023This was a wonderful stay for my husband and I. We spent our honeymoon here, and the place was near perfect! It was clear there was more space than we truly needed, so this home could absolutely accommodate more than two. However, it was still very cozy for the two of us. The neighborhood was quiet, and the neighbors were super friendly. The parking space in front of the house was a very nice touch, as parking in New Orleans is iffy. The hosts were so helpful, awesome, had great communication, and were very accommodating! The beds were comfy! My only complaint is it does seem the home could use a tad of an update, some of the furniture, and the rugs could use a clean as they are somewhat stained and used. But seriously this was a great place to stay!! Everything else felt very clean, just a few minor details were missed. The location is the best part! It’s so close to the French Quarter, and the street car will pick you up right off Canal St, which is literally a block away. There’s plenty of places to shop, and eat within walking distance. It’s a very cute/historic neighborhood. I would absolutely stay here and book this place again. It was wonderful!

Stayed May 23, 2026Great location for visitors to the Monday amazing city in the US! Streetcar line runs 1 block away, easy to get to the French Quarter, City Park, and Morning Call for the begniets and coffee in town! Several good restaurants in the neighborhood are walkable. If you have questions about safety, you'll have those anywhere. As with any other neighborhood in any city, just be alert. It's a quiet residential neighborhood. The owner no longer lives next door but property management is very responsive.Furnishings and essentials are great! Do be alert to the layout, it's not a true shotgun house, since it's only the 3 bedrooms that are directly connected, but that's described well in the listing. This is a terrific property. Highly recommended for a visit to NOLA!

Stayed Feb 19, 2026First thing I should have noticed from the pictures of this unit was there are no pictures of the outside. Very rough neighborhood. When I complained to Genesis she said it was my fault for not looking it up earlier on Google Earth. I was there with my daughter and granddaughter. Did not feel safe for them to stay there so I had to rent them a hotel room. Asked for a partial refund and was denied. Much of the furniture in the house is not like it is the pictures. If you are not familiar with a Shotgun House I'd highly recommend googling it before booking.

Stayed Feb 2, 2026Never having been to New Orleans, we were delighted with the friendliness and generosity of the people and the cityThe house was shotgun style and it was fun to actually get to stay in one. Speaking of generosity, the spaces are true to the photos, the kitchen has everything, the living room comfortable and don't forget, three bedrooms! We appreciated the cleanliness, good communication, ease of entry and the proximity of the Canal St trolley 2 blocks away. We had no use for a car. It's nice after a day out, to come home to this accommodation. The hosts had a Mardi Gras wreath on the door and dropped off a surprise King's Cake !Wonderful stay.

Stayed Jan 18, 2026The place was nice, but the beds were defibrillator different from what was pictured. Still comfortable, though. My biggest issue were bugs. In the kitchen, in the bathroom, even one in the bed in the first room. I contacted the owner, so hopefully they've got the issue resolved, but it definitely affected my mood and the comfort of my stay.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025I may have overlooked it in the listing, but all the rooms are interconnected, requiring one to pass through each one to reach the front or back, which made accessing the bathroom at night quite difficult. I would not choose to stay there again. However, I must acknowledge that the management was responsive, although the check-in process could have been smoother. We were permitted to leave our bags earlier than check-in time, but were informed that the property was not yet ready. However, it appeared exactly the same at 4:00 p.m. when we could check in as it did when we dropped our bags off at 1:00 p.m., with no noticeable changes or additional cleaning.

Stayed Apr 21, 2025The host lives next door, but you'll discover this only after confirming your booking. If you're a cat lover, this place is ideal for you! Stray cats are fed on the porch—one is brown, and the other is black. While the furniture does have some stains, particularly on the bar chairs and couch, it's still functional. The futon next to the TV has one wooden leg and one metal leg, so just be mindful of that. The area rugs in the bedroom were dirty, leading us to roll them up since our feet were getting grimy. Walking barefoot around the home isn't advisable due to the floor's cleanliness. We also found some grapes left behind by the previous guest in a few places. Keep in mind that the online photos of the property don't fully capture its true state. Parking is not so good the neighbors block the parking spots with cones and trash cans so get there early. The back door from the third bedroom was not secured enough that I would consider staying here again.Tried to upload pictures but link was disabled.

Stayed Mar 4, 2025They have a nice house, but it’s very dirty. Some screws were falling out of the bathroom door handle. The furniture was very dirty and there are stains on the couch. I had to go and buy supplies to clean the bathroom the kitchen counters had crumbs on it and the cabinets were filthy and stained. The floors had not been swept or vacuumed and the futon is broken. There’s a block of wood sitting under the futon by the front door to hold it up so we’re not able to sit on it. We ended up leaving 2 1/2 hours after we got there bc the owners were being rude. So we ended up staying at the Marriott downtown. The property manager is no good and the owners are no better. They refused to give me a refund and only would offer to give me back my cleaning fee..

Stayed Feb 28, 2025I rented this house to go to Mardi Gras with my mom, sister, and some friends from out of state. My non-Louisiana friends had been to Mardi Gras as tourists before, with all the partying and drinking on Bourbon Street. But they'd never seen the Mardi Gras I grew up with: a family holiday with all the cousins, picnicking on the neutral ground, and trying to get those beads. Thanks to Fernando and his family who own this place, and who invited us to celebrate Endymion with them, now my friends all know what Mardi Gras really is.Of course we went uptown and partied some while we were there, and the house is so close to the streetcar line, Science Coffee, Parkway Poboys, City Park, and so many other New Orleans staples. But more than that, if you're looking for a way to celebrate Mardi Gras like a local, and as a family, this is the way to do it. I cannot recommend it enough.(If it's not obvious, also absolutely safe and appropriate for kids. There's a highschool right by the house, so lots of kids already will be at the parade.)

Stayed Sep 19, 2024We had a decent stay overall. However, the home didn't match the photos in the listing. The listing photos depicted a cute, clean, and nicely decorated home, but it was a bit disappointing that this is not what we received.
