Beautiful Guest Suite, Exceptional Maine Waterfront and View & Tidal Changes

Very relaxing and enjoyable!

From the moment we arrived, this property exceeded all our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Every detail was thoughtfully considered — from the plush towels and comfortable beds to the well-stocked kitchen and high-speed WiFi.The location was ideal: peaceful and private, yet close enough to all the local attractions, restaurants, and shops. We especially loved the balcony, which made our mornings and evenings feel extra special.Our host, Diane and husband, was exceptional — incredibly responsive, welcoming, and accommodating. They provided clear instructions and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.We’ve stayed at many vacation rentals over the years, and this one truly stands out as one of the best. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or a base for exploring the area, look no further — you won’t be disappointed!Highly recommended. We’re already planning our next trip back!

The guest suite is nice. It’s a perfect size for two guests. Lubec is a great base for outdoor activities (e.g., hikes at Boot Head Preserve and Western Head Preserve). And Diane provides helpful recommendations for under-the-radar things to do (e.g., lunch at West Branch Farm’s Coffee + Crisp Cafe [near Machias]). Why less than 5 stars? We ran out of hot water a couple of times when taking two showers spaced less than two hours apart, and got cold a couple of times overnight (the thermostat is set to 64° and is not adjustable as it is enclosed in a locked plexiglass box). The hosts’s lovely home sits in front of the guest suite, so it’s possible to see only a small fraction of the house’s beautiful waterfront view from the guest suite. To see the beautiful sunsets, we had to walk down to Diane and Chris’ backyard, which they allowed us to do. The featured picture for the property shows the view from the hosts’ house and backyard. You cannot see this view from the deck of the guest suite. 19 of 26 property reviews are of the hosts’ house, which used to be rented to guests. Those 19 reviews cause confusion and should not appear in the description of the rental suite.

Great location to visit Lubec, Quoddy Head Light, Cobscook, and Eastport. Loved hearing the reversing Falls every day and watching tide rise and fall. Unit had everything we needed. Yay!

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay in Lubec . Diane and Chris were the nicest of hosts . Our suite was super clean and comfortable . Spending time at the waters edge was peaceful and relaxing . Location ws great for exploring the area . Spent time at Quuddy light and Campabella island . Saw seal's and a whale at east Quaddy lighthouse .

Wonderful, private loft with expansive water views. The apartment was perfectly furnished, clean and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend and will likely return!

Wonderful property with fantastic views…very clean, wonderful apartment with all the amenities you need for a home away from home. Friendly owners who go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.

We spent a week in mid August at this property and it was a wonderful experience. The studio was comfortable and well equipped with amazing views of the water. It is a remote location but if it's quiet and nature you are looking for, you couldn't do better.

Although Mother Nature put a damper on the stay with rainy days and fog. We still where able to explore the many attractions Lubec and surrounding areas had to offer. Including West Quaddy light, Campobello island, St Andrews in New Brunswick to name a few. The hosts Chris and Diane were wonderful and we look forward to going back again some time in the near future.

Loved the location with a great view off the deck for morning coffee. Very clean and had all the amenities you need including washer and dryer. Very quiet and peaceful. Good location as well for visiting local attractions. The hosts are very nice and want to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. You can see it in all the details they put in the rental property. Will be staying again our next trip up to Maine.
