I enjoyed the quiet, watching the birds flying and swimming on the lake. Plus there was a few other lakes to visit.
This is a very cute and functional lakeside cottage. We were there around New Years so the lake was frozen solid. Great vistas across the lake. The bed was comfy and the kitchen well stocked. Climate control worked great and we learned that too much heat downstairs could cause hot sleeping conditions upstairs, but we figured that out. There is plenty of parking when nobody is at the property next door which shares a parking area. Three suggestions for improvement: 1) have the driveway plowed or shoveled before guests arrive (I did some myself just to make getting in and out easier.) 2) There were some cobwebs in the windows and on the light fixtures, 3) The upstairs vertical shower head dribbles more than sprays - the downstairs shower was much better. For the price and value though, we would stay there again, especially in the winter months.
The house is cute. But absolutely filthy. Cobb webs and lots of them that have been there for a long time. Full of dead bugs. Absolutely no attempt at privacy between the old house and this new one that is shoe horned onto the property. One large patio that is clearly set up for the old house and a small yard only for this cabin. The lake access is through the small yard. No window covering on the new house, which given the view we absolutely appreciate normally. But the 5 year old staying next door kept riding his bike around on the patio and waving when he did. So disappointed in the property. Really great location and potential but very dirty and no attempt at privacy.
Property is as described in pictures. Wonderful place right on the lake. Took our kayak and launched it from the beach. So relaxing to sit on the back porch and watch the gorgeous view of the lake, hills, ospreys and bald eagles. Very quiet and peaceful. Would have given it 5 stars, but the sofas are super hard and uncomfortable. But mostly cleanliness was only superficial. Windows were dirty which spoiled the view and there was visible dirt on baseboards, sliding door track and under furniture. Needs a more thorough deep cleaning in nooks and crannies. Would certainly visit again if the cleanliness was resolved.
Beautiful lakefront- cozy modern cottage
We loved staying at the chalet. The lake views were amazing, location perfect, and the covered porch was a great place to hide from the sun. Would definitely come back!
This modern updated cabin was a perfect place to spend our Anniversary. We enjoyed kayaking from the backdoor and sitting on the porch watching the birds. So peaceful and relaxing. We will be back!
Great clean cozy cabin to stay in! The cabin is small but I was really in awe of the space efficient design! It made the space really enjoyable and perfect for what we were looking for. We had everything we needed and of course beautiful views to wake up to out the large front windows.
This beautifully designed cabin had all the amenities we could need. The owner was very responsive. The view of the lake with the fancy ducks floating by brought us the calm we desired. The proximity to the Similkameen trail and the picturesque drive to Palmer Lake were the reasons we had chosen Oroville. Privacy and view were the reasons we chose the Zen cabin. We were delighted with our break from quarantining in eastern Washington to quarantining safely in this gem of a destination in north central Washington.
We had a great time staying here - our friends rented the cabin next door and we were able to have a vacation together, while staying apart due to COVID-19. The cabin was just as pictured, and in late August the lake was very warm. The only negatives were privacy - there are basically no window coverings, so you are awake as soon as the sun comes up, and have to change in bathrooms. The house next door was being re-roofed when we were there, which gave ZERO privacy in any room as all rooms have windows (even the bathrooms). Other than this, the place was nice and we had a good time. There are also a few pieces of derelict concrete/pipes in the water, so we had to be extra cautious with kids.
We were in town to celebrate Bill's life. It was nice to have family staying at the rental next door. The weather was beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the lake looking for Oggy. The mysterious lake monster eluded us. The house was fantastic and had all the amenities. We will definitely consider staying here again.
