Our Historic Home is registered on the Federal National Historic Properties Preservation list. And the old adage of location, location, location is defined by our wonderful home. You may find a few less expensive dwellings but there is another adage that you get what you pay for; and we believe the pricing on our rental is a bargain for the charming experience it provides and it's superior location with a roomy 1000 square feet inside living space and a lovely porch garden area.

Historic Esplanade Avenue was the first Avenue built outside the original city, The Vieux Carre. Our lovely, charming 1-bedroom rental is adjacent to our home and is filled with comfortable furnishings and antiques; has central air / heat; a piano; oriental rugs; a great porch with a view; and is a mere 1.25 miles walk to the French Quarter. Surrounded by neighborhood restaurants, grocery stores, bars, hair salon, New Orleans Museum of Art, City Park, Golf, Bayou St. John, bayou water sports, The Fairgrounds Race Track, Jazz Fest, City Park Festival Grounds, and much more. The apartment has a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave; and we are directly next door to an excellent full service coffee house. Transportation is easily accessible through a bus stop at the corner, city wide blue bike rentals at the corner, bicycling on the Avenue bike path, streetcar at the park entrance, Taxi, or Uber.

Come live a Metropolitan New Orleans Lifestyle in the heart of our magical City just like a native New Orleanean!

This was our 2nd time staying at this location. It is a wonderful area and we felt very safe. There are many things to do and great places to eat. Grab a Pandora’s snowball and drive around the gorgeous historic neighborhood where classic architecture meets the quiet grace of time or ride the City Park train and see the breathtaking

Historic neighborhood with several restaurants, bars and grocery. This property is conveniently located next to a coffee house with extended hours. After a long day of being a tourist, you can come home to a front porch to relax. The owner/host and this property are why we come back each year.

This was a very nice historic property and well maintained. We have 2 things that we want when we stay at a hotel or a VRBO: a comfortable place to relax and a comfortable bed. Unfortunately Joe did not inform us before we arrived that the couch was broken and there was not a comfortable place to relax. Joe told us when we arrived that it was broken and that he was working on getting a replacement. That did not make the couch any more comfortable. The bed was not comfortable for us either. The mattress was too soft and the foot of the bed was higher than the head of the bed. The third night that we were there, we switched the sheets so that our feet were by the headboard. It was better. I understand that people have different preferences in the firmness of a mattress. If you like a very soft mattress without much support, then you will like this bed. Joe did refund $50 for the broken couch. That was a good gesture but very minimal since we didn't have a comfortable place to relax for the 4 days that we were there. I would recommend this place if it has a new couch.

It is a beautiful place in a great, walkable neighborhood. We spent a week in NOLA seeing the sights and this was a great place to be based out of. Joe was a very responsive host and we had a relaxing time. The street parking was convenient. We would stay here again.

The trip was for my 89-year-old mother who grew up on Esplanade Avenue and we moved her a few years ago to be with her children. I wanted her to get back to her roots and this home met all of our expectations. The Host was very accommodating, the house was just beautiful and very comfortable.
