New Orleans, Louisiana
Summary:
Located on trendy Magazine Street, this apartment takes up the entire 2nd floor of the building. It has a huge balcony, a spacious living/dining room with a custom-built sectional and 65'' HDTV, and four large bedrooms. There are desks in three of the bedrooms that are perfect for remote working. All art, murals, and wallpaper in the apartment come from New Orleans based artists.
This is a 2nd floor walk-up with stair access only, and no elevator.
The Neighborhood:
Uptown is a fantastic neighborhood filled with great architecture, historic homes, excellent shopping and dining, and easy access to the Garden District and the French Quarter. There are more than 20 restaurants and bars within a 10-minute walk.
Getting Around:
The neighborhood is very walkable - you do not need a car to access great restaurants and shopping. The Garden District is a 10 minute walk away (although the neighborhoods really blend together) and the French Quarter is a 12-15 minute drive away.
The fastest way to go to the French Quarter is by Uber/Lyft (a 12-15 minute drive).
Public Transportation can be a good option if you're looking to save some money or ride the St. Charles Street car.
All buses and streetcars cost $1.25 per ride or $3.00 for an unlimited 1-day "Jazzy Pass". You can either pay on board or pay through the “RTA GoMobile” App. The app (and norta.com) show real time location information on all buses and streetcars.
Bus 11 - The bus runs down Magazine Street and ends next to the French Quarter. The bus stops 200 feet from the apartment (corner of Magazine + Milan - in front of the restaurant Que Rico), takes about 20 minutes to the French Quarter, and runs every 20 minutes during most of the day. This is the fastest and easiest public transportation option.
St. Charles Streetcar - The streetcar runs down St. Charles all the way to the French Quarter. Walk down Milan Street to the corner of St. Charles + Milan. The final stop is the French Quarter (Canal + Carondelet) and it takes about 30 minutes. This option is slower than the bus but is more scenic (beautiful mansions and century-old oak trees line St. Charles Ave) and the streetcar (it was the oldest running streetcar in the world prior to its brief closure following Hurricane Katrina) is cool to see/ride if you haven't done so yet.
If you have some time on your hands, like to walk, and the weather is nice, I recommend walking the 3.5 miles to the French Quarter. I recommend walking down either Magazine Street (passing shops + restaurants + art galleries) or St. Charles Ave (passing beautiful mansions + century-old oak trees). Both streets will take you through the Garden District, Lower Garden District, Warehouse District, and CBD - all interesting neighborhoods. It take about 1.5-2 hours, depending how fast you walk, of course!
Parking:
There are three different parking options: free on-street parking, metered on-street parking, and a paid public parking lot.
1. All streets other than Magazine St. in the area are free. You can always find free overnight street parking within a 1-2 min walk of the building and I am happy to help you find a space when you arrive. Note that you will need to parallel park!
2. There is metered street parking in front of the building (all along Magazine Street). Parking meters are in effect Monday-Saturday, 8am-7pm. The meters are for 2 hours and cost $2 per hour.
3. There is a public paid parking lot on the block (20 second walk from the building). It costs $25 for 24 hours. I would not recommend this option as you can park for free on the street, but it is an option.
Other Things to Note:
Mardi Gras/Carnival Season: The apartment is a 2 minute walk away from the main parade route!
This area is a great place to watch the parades - there are a lot of people watching here but you'll have a great view and never be more than a person or two deep. You'll also have enough space to bring chairs, food, a keg, etc. Most people who live in New Orleans watch them in this area; downtown and french quarter can get extremely crowded and is mostly tourists.
Most of the big parades start at Tchoupitoulas Street and Napoleon Avenue, go down Napoleon Avenue (2 min walk from apartment), and then turn onto St. Charles (8 min walk from apartment) and head downtown.
As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (10pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided.
Per City of New Orleans regulations, this property is equipt with a noise monitoring device. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations, it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels) . This device also monitors occupancy and cigarette smoke. More information can be found at minut.com.

We really enjoyed our stay in this very large and clean apartment. Plenty of rooms and comfortable beds. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony for morning coffee and evening sunsets. Neighborhood has lots of great shops and restaurants. Thx!
This was our second year staying here. The location is great and the area is very family friendly. There is a playground nearby.
Location, cleanliness, comfort, ease of getting in and out...all perfect!
Property was easy to find and check into. The Uptown location cannot be beat! Would definitely stay again.
Six of us stayed here for an awesome weekend of music, food, and fun. Easy access to everything we needed. This was our second time staying here and there will likely be a third next year! Thanks to Sam and Max for being on the ball with my checking questions! See you guys next year!
The property had plenty of space and is in a great location. We walked to parades and enjoyed nearby restaurants. There is a park only a couple of blocks away which was perfect for letting the kids run out some energy. We had no issues finding parking and coming and going was easy. We had a great stay and will most likely book this property again for next year.
We enjoyed our stay here. The property is unique, as evidenced by the photos. It was fun to sit out on the balcony. The place was very clean and the manager very responsive.
We had a wonderful stay! Perfect location for us - we loved the restaurants, coffee shops and other shops in the area. The “house” was perfect for our family too. We were able to bring our dog which was wonderful as well. Neighborhood was safe and a fun area. Not too loud which was nice. The balcony was so much fun to sit out at night and enjoy the weather. This listing is exactly how it looks in the pictures which was wonderful! Owner was always available and very prompt on their replies. We had no problems at all with this property! Thank you!
Outstanding.
I absolutely adored this rental. It is huge with room for the whole group, or just for a few folks to spread out. The location is right in the middle of one of the best NOLA neighborhood with shopping and amazing food on the same block. Highly recommend!
