Welcome to The Bywater Parlor, our thoughtfully curated one-bedroom apartment in a historic 1910 Creole Cottage, located just steps from the banks of the Mississippi River. This home has deep New Orleans roots and once operated as a neighborhood tattoo parlor.

Perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to experience the city like a local, this space blends historic architecture with creative spirit.

The Space:

The apartment occupies one side of a classic New Orleans Creole Cottage. We live on the other side with our dog, Krewe, and are available if you need anything, but you will have complete privacy during your stay and a private entrance.

Inside you will find:

One private bedroom with a comfortable queen bed
A separate living room with kitchenette
Full bathroom
Original architectural details from 1910
Curated artwork and design touches throughout

Location:

Situated near the Mississippi River, you are close enough to feel the energy of the city while still enjoying a true neighborhood atmosphere. Walk along the levee, and Crescent Park, explore nearby cafés and bars, and experience New Orleans beyond the tourist corridors.

Why Stay Here:

Featured in Gambit Home & Style
Historic 1910 Creole architecture
Authentic New Orleans character
Ideal for couples or solo travelers
Local experience with great dive bars, bakeries, and restaurants nearby
Hosted by owners who care deeply about the space and the neighborhood

A Note on the Home:

This is a historic structure built in 1910. With that comes charm and sound. You may hear live jazz drifting over from Bacchanal Wine next door.

Light sleepers, if you are seeking a brand-new, soundproof luxury condo, this is not the right fit. Like many homes in New Orleans, city sounds are part of the experience. You will hear tugboats and barges moving along the nearby industrial canal, as well as trains passing through nearby crossings. It is all part of everyday life in the Bywater.

We love this home and its history, and we are happy to share recommendations to help you experience New Orleans like someone who truly lives here.

If you are looking for creative energy, history, and authenticity, welcome.
