Apartment/ flat - SAINT-MALO

Great location!

Our host Louis ensured we were well taken care, before and during our stay, which was nearly 3 weeks. The apartment itself was fully equipped with everything one might need-it was very comfortable and light and bright with the big windows in the front providing spectacular views of the water. The balcony was a wonderful plus so we could enjoy the start to every day with our coffee and enjoy the beautiful view from outside. The area of the beach directly in front of the apartment is ground zero for an array of water sports-sailing, surfing, swimming, wind sailing, kite surfing, water walking-you name it! And the tidal views were incredibly dynamic-every day was its own unique experience. Saint Malo itself was charming and a delightful walk along the boardwalk; it took about 40 easy minutes to get to the walled town. Very safe neighborhood with access to local restaurants, boulangeries (yum), and grocery stores (with many wine, cheese & fresh food choices)- all within easy walking distance. Parking right next to the building and this location was perfect for day trips to many wonderful sites in Brittany and Normandy. Overall, the VRBO site cannot begin to describe or show with photos what a fantastic stay anyone could have here-especially in this comfortable apartment and in this location. This was the perfect stay for our party of 6- adults, grandparents, and young teenagers! Beautiful location, excellent communication with host, and well equipped kitchen! Mme Charlot is awesome!

This apartment was just absolutely lovely. I can't imagine a place w/ more magical views than we had at this site! Ideally located between Roche Bonne and St. Malo and right smack dab on the boardwalk! The sunsets didn't happen until almost 11 pm at night (in July) and the tides are so extreme you have to walk for 1/2 mile to get to the ocean! Just magical! I would come back again and again to this place! The only thing I have to comment on is that, for American travelers who are very used to having all the amenities included in the price, it's a bit odd to have to rent your linens once you get there and have to make your own beds!? Kind of weird. Also- renter beware: in France 95% of the vacation rentals don't provide any more than a tiny bit of toilet paper when you arrive. It's up to you to buy garbage bags, kitchen cleaners, air spray, salt and pepper and all kitchen condiments. It's just odd for us North Americans to not have that at our disposal for usage. Also; I've found that the French are VERY stingy when it comes to towels; ours were no bigger than a hand towel. Don't even think of any extra towels! So we went out and bought our own towels as well as towels for beach usage. I'm only stating this here as I would love it if French airbnb hosts got the message about customer service and providing much more for their guests who are already paying a pretty high rent and then to be expected to rent their sheets and linens as well as pay a stay tax at the end of their visit. It's just aggravating to not have everything included in the price from the get-go. This said, I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND this lovely, airy apartment with its 4 large bedrooms, two full baths and separate toilets. It's great for a large family and the kitchen is large and workable. We didn't find any room to stock our own groceries in the cupboards as they're all filled w/ dinnerware and glasses. But we made do! I hope others enjoy this sunny spacious apartment as much as we did! We will definitely come back!

The flat was very nice, clean and had all we needed. The view from the livingroom was fantastic.
