Real condensed flavors and Caribbean colors, you can find everything in the market of Basse-Terre, or almost! Spices, fruits and vegetables , flowers, fish and seafood , local handicrafts ( hats coconut leaves ) , meat, cod , puddings , punches ... It is a feast for the eyes and nose ! The apartment is located in a safe and calm neighborhood. It perfectly suited my needs, as I was visiting there on business. It would be ideal to have a rental car, as public transportation in Basse-Terre will provide only limited service. The hosts were very welcoming and met my needs during the stay. I asked for extra documentation for consulting materials in a local library, and they were willing to help me. They have a small but well-equipped kitchen, and you can use a little Jacuzzi whenever you want. It will be an excellent place to stay in Basse-Terre for a long period. I recommend this place!
