Apartment 15 km from the beach, jacuzzi, sauna, sleeps 5, fully equipped

An outstanding property ideally overlooking a small village surrounded by greenery and the sounds of birds. The property offers all the amenities including a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great shower, hot tub, outdoor areas and our favourite room - a covered dining terrace with amazing views. We were fortunate to have this home base to explore the French Basque and into Spain. Thank you Bernadette and Jean-Claude for your hospitality and kindness.

Perfect for our long stay (30 nights). Hosts excellent and made us very welcome. Central to many days out. Jacuzzi a real bonus in the afternoon. Gite very well equipped. We loved it!

We meet to grand people, Bernadette and Jean-Claude. In all purposes both were there. We spent a beautiful time in their Holiday flat, everything was there what we needed. Jacuzzi and Sauna aswell as our Flat very clean. If we had knewn before how it would be, we would of booked for 3 Weeks. Next year we stay there for 4 Weeks, hopefully the Months run quickly. Glad we found this place. We highly recommend a stay at Bernadettes and Jean-Claudes place. Johanna et Ralf;-)

We had a lovely stay here, the hosts are excellent - very friendly and helpful. The jacuzzi and games room were highlights for our children! The view of the night sky was also special. Highly recommended!

Jean and Bernadette are wonderful hosts. The property is well equipped and very quiet. We did a great amount of cycling and hiking in the Cote Basque region. We really enjoyed the people, the country, and especially the food and wine. We will definitely return.

My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic two month stay at the Sallanne's apartment in the Pays Basque. The ground floor apartment has everything you might need; well appointed kitchen, modern bathroom and the highlight, the verandah which is bright and spacious. In fact we tended to live in the verandah when we were in the apartment as it has great views over the garden and wooded hills, and is directly connected to both the kitchen and the rest of the apartment. It also has very efficient heating, which was essential for us in January & February. (We never made use of the sauna and jacuzzi unfortunately but I imagine it would be fantastic in the summer!) As a base from which to explore the area the location is really good. St.Jean de Luz, Hendaye, La Rhune and all the pretty inland basque villages are within half an hours drive if you use the autoroute, as are the wilder stretches of coast in the Landes to the north, and Spain and St.Sebastien only an extra 15 mins. Mustn't forget Bayonne either, itself a beautiful city with a fantastic market and great train links. We would especially recommend the trip to St.Jean Pied de Port, where the train route is even more scenic than the main road. Locally there are bakeries, restaurants and a supermarket in Mouguerre, Lahonce, Briscous and Urcuit; but you do need a car. We also did a lot of cycling, which is great if you don't mind hills, but with transport there are wonderful flat dedicated cycle paths along the Nive valley, and all the way from Bayonne to Dax, hugging the bank of the Adour river. Last but not least, we really cannot say enough to praise the wonderful friendship and hospitality of our hosts Jean-Claude & Bernadette. They were always there to help, kindly lending us several guide books, installing some extra english tv channels and even sorting us out with some appropriate footwear when it snowed! Though before anyone gets too excited I should stress the Bayonne ski season is extremely short and is about as frequent as a good summer in England! Thanks for all you did for us Jean-Claude and Bernadette!
