Stayed Jul 3, 2024What a magical week we had here at Paola’s house. The sea in front is gorgeous. Secluded, quiet, feels quintessentially like an Italian holiday from a movie. There are slippery rocks to enter the water, which can be challenging at first, but once we were out there swimming, it was the clearest, most comforting water. A couple days there was high surf, and it was fun to watch the surfers catch waves. The house itself if small but well-equipped. The private patio is the best part of the house. We had many outdoor dinners while the sun set in the distance. Make sure to bring your groceries (and plenty of bottled water since it’s not recommended to drink the tap) and settle in for a relaxing beach vacation. Paola is the perfect host. Kind, communicative, caring. She even tolerated my very bad, very minimal Italian language attempts. If you are looking for dolce far niente, this is it.

Beach bar/restaurant had great snacks/ice cream and drinks during the day and great dinners at night again right on the water reasonably priced as well. Love to come back again! Thanks Paola!

Stayed Jun 10, 2023Excellent location with a superbe host. Paola made our 3 week stay a truly wonderful experience. We really enjoyed it to the fullest: the sea was amazing and clean, the house was up to a high standard and the view from the dining table was unbeatable. The location made a stay with a dog really easy as well. We surely will come back next year.

Stayed Sep 8, 2021We have spent 6 fantastic days in the apartment of Paola. The apartment is so nice and in the kitchen is all, what you need. The terrasse and the balcony are wonderful with nice sunchairs, big umbrella, grill etc. The place is a little paradise of earth. The beach is stony but the water is totally clear. In Santo Stefano you will find a big fishmarket. Paola is a very kind and helpful person. We will to come back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Everything about our stay was perfect, from the location, to the beautiful house newly refurbished and with all the necessities, to the hosts who were very kind and always keen on making sure that everything was perfect. The house is the nicest of the bunch of houses on the beach, located at the end of the path with a very private veranda overlooking the bay, this makes it unique as it gave us a lot of privacy but at the same time you’re just 15 feet away from the beach. Getting to the house, if you’re not familiar with the roads, it can be a bit tricky and the roads are very hard to drive in, but it’s worth the efforts. If you’ve got a lot of luggage it’s a bit of an extra effort as there’s a 4 minute steep walk from the parking lot to the house, but for me it was ok. Paola, Giovanna and Paolo are great hosts and super nice. We had a bit of an issue with dishwasher (stopped working on day 1), and the hosts reacted very quickly to ensure the damage was fixed in the shortest time possible. The appliances and furnitures are brand new and everything spotless, so we were just a little bit unlucky. I’d love to return here and I’d recommend this place over and over.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Paola's place was in a beautiful part of Monte Argentario and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The house is right on the beach and great for nature lovers. It is located 15-20 mins from the port, so it's better to plan on grocery shopping every few days. Highly recommended!

Stayed Jul 15, 2018My husband, 16 year old daughter, her 15 year old friend, and I stayed for five nights at this beautiful apartment in the Monte Argentario area. The apartment, in a complex called Le Canelle, is on the beach (very unique in this area). The owner, Paola, met us in Porto Santa Stefeno to show us the route to the apartment (it is about a 15 to 20 minute drive). It is best to get groceries before you leave town as there are no grocery stores at Le Canelle. Paola showed us everything we needed in the apartment, including where laundry facilities are, where her little boat is, the outdoor shower for showering after you swim in the ocean, and all of the details of the apartment itself. The apartment was easily large enough to accommodate the four of us. It is spotless. It felt very private to us because it is the last apartment in the complex and the terrace is very private. The beds are comfortable. The view is incredible. You hear the waves of the ocean. There are two outdoor sitting areas, one being the terrace, with the loungers, and the other being the balcony, which also has two lounger chairs. We spent hours swimming in the sea and if you don't want to leave the apartment, you can easily enjoy your days swimming, snorkeling and sunning on Paola's beautiful terrace. If you do want to explore Monte Argentario, I can't say enough about how enchanting the area is. The local towns are so picturesque. The panoramic views of the ocean at every turn take your breath away. I highly recommend exploring the beautiful town of Orbetello. Best gelato at La Logge, and stunning sunsets over the lagoon. Forte Stella in just outside of Porte Ercole is worth a visit (check the hours first at the tourist bureau in Porte Ercole). This is a stunningly beautiful and unique area. It is not overrun by tourists; it seemed undiscovered to us (at least undiscovered to English-speaking tourists). And stay at Paola's beautiful apartment! She is a lovely woman, who truly cares that her renters enjoy themselves and are comfortable in her gorgeous apartment.

Stayed Jun 12, 2017My husband and daughter and I spent 3 nights here and it was wonderful! This property is gorgeous and very perfect for those looking to disconnect and get away. It is pretty remote -20 mins to town but was perfect for us as we wanted to get away and relax. There is a beach bar at the residence beach but we did not use it. There is a beautiful natural pool with lots of fish perfect for snorkeling right near the beach. The beach is gorgeous and access is right in front of you. Wake up and have coffee while gazing at the beautiful Mediterranean. We purchased groceries and fresh fish from the fish monger in San Stefano and made all meals at the house in the gorgeous and well appointed kitchen. We also used the charcoal grill to cook up sea bass and squid. We spent each evening laying on the comfortable sun beds gazing at the stars. It was just my husband, daughter and I but we could have easily fit 4 more people in the apartment. The outdoor space makes the accomodations very comfortable and feel very upscale. I would come again and again. Paola was extremely responsive and accommodating. Wonderful place!! Thank you very much for letting us stay in your home!! One word of caution is that the roads are windy, narrow and few guard rails - we would not have wanted to drive to town in the evening - Any time after dusk. So plan ahead and bring provisions!

Stayed Jun 3, 2017First the view--you are literally steps away from the small, private, rocky Cannelle Beach. The sound of crashing waves is therapeutic day & night. The view is stunning--from the terrace, porch or glass wall from the inside main apartment- all facing the sea. The water is the the deepest blue, dotted with boats in the distance. A nearby stand for drinks, lunch & beach chairs but check their hours. The apartment itself is a part of a small strip of condos stacked two high--maybe 10 or so total. Paola's is at the end-very private with an amazing terrace that separates the main apartment from a little private bedroom and bath across the terrace. Small walls between the porches maintain privacy nicely. The main apartment has a lovely dining area & kitchen stocked well with all the necessities for cooking. It is modern & sleek in style--perfect taste for a beach property. There is a grill outside in an outdoor kitchen area on the terrace, 2 lounge chairs & a table/chairs for dining on the terrazzo area. Outdoor shower is very handy for there is some sand on the beach. Lovely sea blue tile throughout. There is an upstairs bed and bath in the main apartment but also option for sofa to turn into a bed. All very comfortable. Now the owner, Paola, is the most quickly responding hostess we have encountered. She is not only very helpful but also very sweet, kind, thoughtful & sincerely wants your visit to be perfect. She is rightfully proud of this lovely property & takes great care of it. We traveled with 3 year old granddaughter so she painstakingly put fencing around the cacti so she could not get hurt. Paola left us prosecco, pasta, olive oil, several seasonings, coffee & water which were much appreciated-also orange drink for our granddaughter. Paola, her sister, brother in law--all very sweet & helpful. Observations: Trip to Isola Giannutri pretty but for serious hiking and only one ripoff bar. Did not go to Giglio. Not a lot of English speaking in the area.We have some Italian so got by It would be good to allow time to stop at Simply for groceries in Santo Stefano before meeting/following Paola to the property. It is 20 minutes or so from Santo Stefano and the roads are the only con--quite narrow & windy with some areas near the edge of steep cliffs so driving for food, especially at night, is not desirable. Nearest restaurant some distance but once you are there you don't want to leave anyway. Bellissimo!
