York, York
Holiday homes in York don't come much better than this.
A wonderfully positioned 3 bedroom property located just a 5 minute walk from the city centre and positioned right next to the well renowned 'Bishy Road' area of York with a whole host of great independent cafes and eateries.
The property itself is located within the award wining, grade 2 listed Clementhorpe Maltings development. Recently developed from an old 19th century Malthouse the building retains some wonderful features from this period. Internally the property is set over 4 floors and benefits from fabulous interior design throughout.
The lower floor of the property features a fantastic pool table. A really unique feature amongst York holiday lets. Combined with the wall mounted TV and comfy bean bags, many hours will no doubt be spent in here!
The first floor of the accommodation features the king six bedroom along with one of the double rooms. The bathroom for the property is also on this floor and features a bath and freestanding shower.
Taking the stairs to the next floor you'll find the main living area. Superbly presented with a wonderful mix of contemporary style with period features. The kitchen features granite worktops along with all the appliances you'd expect of a high end property. There is a dining area to comfortably seat 6 for dinner. The lounge area has a cute 'L' shaped sofa along with an additional accent chair.
The top floor of the property has a further double room complete with a toilet en-suite.
Although the property has no parking, there is a large council car park just a couple of minutes walk away where £13.50 will cover a 24 hour period.
We stayed here over Christmas holiday. The property is wonderful and very well appointed. Close to everything. 5 stars!!
The property is a fun conversion of an old malt factory. It is split over four floors, each level is small. Lots of walking up and down. The ceilings are low so anyone over 6' will have to be very careful. The kids loved the mini pool table. The location is perfect - just a short walk into town but outside of it so very quiet. Just a block away from the Slip Inn pub, a charming place with a ton of history. For families, the real star of the show is the full size washer and separate dryer - rare for the area. The dryer has a little water tank you have to empty but works well.
Mostly perfect my only suggestion would be to find a way of cooling the upper floors in high summer… otherwise a lovely experience all round.
Really fantastic place, great location. My boys and I loved the pool table. The kitchen was well-equipped and the place had lots of original features from when it was a Maltings. Would recommend!
