2 Bedroom Top Floor Flat Within 40 mins of Edinburgh, Good Transport Links

Jean was an excellent host. The apartment was very clean. As we were staying over Christmas and the New Year, Jean had decorated. She was very efficient with her correspondence. The location of the apartment is very useful for getting the bus into Edinburgh. Penicuik has restaurants, grocery stores and a gas station. We had a car and took a number of day trips to places like St. Andrews, the East Neuk of Fife, Dunfermline, Stirling and Glasgow. Our son and his family hiked in the Pentland Hills. We also had a good walk in the grounds of Penicuik House and enjoyed a breakfast at The Craigie Hotel. The apartment is a good location to explore more than just Edinburgh. Great host real home from home

I stayed for three weeks in Jean’s flat. The flat was exactly as described in the listing. Jean welcomed me to the flat when I arrived, and took a few minutes to show me around. The flat is in a very quiet development, within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the centre of Penicuik and a short drive to Tesco.

Excellent place to stay. Perfect location to get to Edinburgh and beyond. Check in was easy and fast. Kitchen was full service and good size rooms for a family of 4.

The stay was lovely. Jean was an excellent hostess, the apartment was clean and well kept. It was close to bus lines and convenient for shopping and eating. Having two bathrooms really helped our stay.

The apartment was a perfect base for visiting our daughter at the University of Edinburgh and exploring the local area. There are some lovely walks very close by in the Pentland Hills. The bus into Edinburgh was convenient, although a little slow (allow an hour). The apartment itself was very clean and cosy and had everything we needed. Altogether a lovely stay and we would love to return.

Nice spread flat. But alot of room taken up with antiques & books. Or to put it interesting decor. Would stay again with full pillows & a shower needed in main bath. Or a pail in tub at least!

Quiet, peaceful, comfortable, we enjoyed our stay in Penicuik

Jean was there on our arrival and showed us around. Her home was lovely and cozy with so many thoughtful touches. It was definitely home away from homr.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jean is such a nice person and collected us from the bus stop when we arrived. She gave us lots of helpful information and even kindly met me in Edinburgh after I'd left my flask in her car. The property itself is really lovely, and in a very nice and peaceful location. We came for the Fringe and used to get buses to and from Penicuik which worked out well. It was really nice to return to the peace and quiet of Penicuik after the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. We'll definitely stay again next time we come for the Fringe. Thank you so much Jean. You're a gem!

Excellent, with great communication with the owner

We enjoyed our 3 nite stay in this charming home out in the suburbs of Edinburgh. It was clean quiet and close to the bus stops. Our host was very helpful. I would recommend that having your own car would be very helpful as the bus schedules must assume you know the city.

The small town was great to visit and a short bus ride to Edinburgh.

We had a lovely stay at Jean’s place. It had everything you needed and the flat is in a peaceful enclave surrounded by really lovely riverside walks and only a short walk to shops. Jean’s is very attentive and was quick to respond to any questions. Thanks Jean!

Wonderful stay

An amazing host who was there to welcome us, in the loveliest town. A very smart flat that was perfect for us as a hub, all the amenities needed and at a very reasonable price. The only downside is the lack of taxi availability and the buses can be quite long, but this is no fault of host or property. Just book your transport well in advance! Would 100% stay again if visiting edinburgh and wanted to be away from the hustle.and bustle
