The property was clean, generally well-appointed, and close to everything we wanted to see. Once we parked the car we didn't use it again the whole weekend; everything was within blocks and very walkable. The location is great. Beds and individual room temp controls made things very comfortable. Food options were plentiful. The host was very courteous and quick to respond to questions. Two things that might have been nice to know ahead of time: parking is at the hotel garage across the street (very close but not cheap) and the unit is a fourth floor walk-up. Neither of these would have impacted our decision but could be important to others considering a stay (especially all the stairs). The only things I'd like to see improved would be 1) the toilet paper... odd call-out, I know, but it was almost translucent one-ply; the TP in the rest stops along 70/76 was better... and 2) the lack of extra pillows (there were two sleeping pillows on each bed; if two people slept in the bed that left only one pillow per person, which wasn't enough). In a unit that offered such a positive experience it was a little disappointing to see them skimp on something so basic. I would definitely stay here or rent from this host again.

I love urban spaces, but never had a chance to live in one for long. This location a great opportunity to get a taste of the lifestyle. Situated on a happening street, a few blocks down from Philly's premier Broadway touring theatre and surrounded by interesting shops and restaurants, the entrance is one of those nondescript doors you sometimes see in between businesses on the street level of a building. Behind the door is a long flight of steps (so be prepared for that) to a cozy oasis, hidden away from the bustle of the big city. You might get awakened at 3am by a nocturnal trash truck and your view is the classic urban vista of a brick wall, but I consider that part of the urban charm (since I don't normally live with that 24-7). Honestly, other than the brief crash of a few dumpsters, the location is remarkably quiet, calm, and separate from the busy city street. The apartment is simple, but had all the amenities I needed. A great place to serve as a homebase while exploring the city. Center city Philly has so much in walking distance, so this apartment was a perfect central location to start an urban exploration in any direction.

This apartment is right in the heart of the city - you can’t get a better location. But the stay was fairly disappointing as the apartment is much more run down and dated than the pictures show. I didn’t mind the stairs (no elevator), but I did mind that the place did not seem very clean. The bedding seemed to clean, but the towels provided were very old and very used looking as well as the carpets around the apartment. If you’re not planning to spend a lot of time in the apartment, then your stay will be fine. If you’re planning to spend some time at the apartment, I would not suggest this place.

Spacious apartment located in the heart of Center City. 2 big beds, kitchen and living room were all nice and clean.

We were well aware of the 4 flights up but didn’t expect multiple large bags of garbage would be in the hallways n stairways which led us to an apartment with only space heaters. Ok so maybe we could deal w space heaters except we could only use 1!! As soon as we plugged in the second heater, the breakers would blow!!the host claimed he’s never had this issue before?? Look at the other reviews…. Same issue trying to use 2 ACs!! How dare he rent this space on a cold night!! Awful!

This is on the 4th floor with steep steps. It was a horrible task to carry the luggage up. Once we got up there, it was over 80 degrees. The portable air conditioners blew out more hot air than cold. If you turned on more than one, the breakers flipped and lights go out. We checked in to the very affordable hotel across the street. The owner heard our issues and gave us back a little more than 1 night of fees. We lost 2 night and the cleaning charges. This apt would be great in the winter with just a backpack for luggage.

Good communication and great location. Place was clean. No central air, the one night of our stay we had to use AC they had 3 portable AC units instead of window units, which caused the circuit to blow about every 5 min, making them useless, ended up us sweating all night. The worst thing although was they dont have an elevator, its a 4 floor staits everytime you come in or out, deadly on the legs. If you can live with no AC and leg pain from the 4 flights of steps its an alright place.

The location is in downtown, 10 min walking distance to the Constitution Center, and around the corner from Woody's Bar. Great places to get brunch (Green Eggs Cafe). Noisy location. The place is very clean, modern, bright. Hulu and DIsney TV a plus. Small couch. It's at the top of 4 flights of stairs. The interior is basic, meaning only 1 light on one side of the bed. Only 2 towels for a 2 bedroom place (bring more towels if 2 big ones won't be enough). Only 2 pillows per bed, no extra pillows. There are only blinds in the master bedroom and one window only has a thin curtain so bring a sleep mask as bedrooms do not get very dark. There are floor AC units, yes, floor AC units, which are vented to the windows, in each bedroom & living room which worked. The main wall AC units don't seem to work. I asked the host through VRBO if there was parking, never heard a response. I had to read reviews for info. There is a parking garage for a Holiday Inn hotel across the street. 3 Days was $70. It was 5 days before check-in and I never heard about check-in details (keys, codes). I asked the host through the VRBO app and heard a response that the details will be provided before I check in, and Check in will be at 1:45pm. No more information was provided. We could not be there at 1:45pm. I told them this and only then did they write back with the check-in information. I mention this because it was different from how other hosts have handled communications.

Many bus routes and subway lines are within a few blocks, and lots of sights are within walking distance. Apartment isn't really set up for real cooking, no cutting board, no pasta pot, no toaster, but for a quick saute it was fine.
