Lounge and kitchen are nice and clean although kitchen requires a few things updated. Oven gloves and new oven trays needed.Bedroom/hallway carpet grubby. Bathroom constantly flooded due to ridiculous shower enclosure having no door. Windows filthy especially at back of property. Overall we felt the property was tired and and unkempt probably due to owners wanting to sell as we had our first booking cancelled then reinstated as sale fell through ! We only accepted as we had trouble finding a property so close to our holiday date. Beware future bookings !!!

Firstly, the service from IOW Hideaways was great - very helpful with booking and Ferry crossings. The property itself... Pro's: - The property is in a great location, with parking for two cars. - It has a decent outside space (if you get the weather!). - Great Lounge and Kitchen Diner space to the front of the house. - Well equipped kitchen. Con's: - The one and only shower is TERRIBLE. It is an electric shower and is severely underpowered. Furthermore, there is only a partial shower screen so the bathroom floor gets completely sodden dispute best attempts not to. If you take one thing from my review, please please please update the shower and put a full shower enclosure in! - The double bed in the second bedroom was creaky and quite uncomfortable. - Generally, the property feels a little tired and a little unloved (perhaps because it is on the market for sale currently). For example the garden, whilst not wild, is in need of attention with the pathways restricted by overgrowing plants/hedges, and the fences & decking are in desperate need of a lick of paint. - The snug room is pointless - there's only a random chair and beanbag, so can't really be used for much. Overall: The property provided a decent base for a weeks holiday. We enjoyed our stay, but given that the property wasn't cheap, the terrible shower (and lack of proper shower screen/enclosure) & poor quality second double bed were the only reasons I would not recommend this place. If these were remedied I would have no issue in recommending this property.

Bathroom very dated, and shower could be upgraded. Oven gloves would be helpful. Something had dripped down front of cooker onto drawers. Kitchen scissors yes please. Second bed timber framed, was amazingly squeaky, and mattress cover on other bed was in tatters. Plus was large garden. No outside compost bin. Outside table had obviously not been wiped for months it was filthy. Liked the hamper, also no info on when bins were collected, neighbour told us otherwise we wouldn't have known.

We’ve stayed at Beatrice avenue before. It’s a lovely bungalow, a short walk from Shanklin beach and also close to Shanklin town centre. The garden was perfect as we had our small dog with us and he loved this. Even managed to sit out on the decking in March! Just a few minor negative points. When we stayed before the kettle was in a poor state and needed descaling, it did again. Also, the fire hadn’t been cleaned out as before. TV reception was not good with some channels either not available or picture breaking up whilst watching. It didn’t spoil our holiday, but would be good if small details like this could be addressed. Apart from these points, we would recommend the property.

The toilet did not have a wash basin as shown in the property details The shower room is very dated and needs towel rails and a hook on the door A draining tray for the kitchen would be helpful The main bedroom smelled of damp The welcome pack was great The new part of the bungalow is good

Beautiful accommodation and location. Ideal for families or a couples retreat. Within 5 minutes walk to the beach and local town centre. Secure enclosed garden and not overlooked, very private. Will definitely be going back.

a beautiful property in excellent location close to all amenities but peacefully quiet. quality of decoration and furniture of accomodation very good quality.Pretty much everything you need is available.Fabulous friendly service from the management company. The only negative I can offer is that the two double bed mattresses are very hard. This was in particular a problem for my wife who has back problems.
