The Rooftop

The rooftop terrace runs the full width of the building and is where most evenings end up. A large BBQ area includes a gas grill, sink, fridge, and ample preparation space, complemented by a long dining table and a generous lounge area. The sea is directly in front of you to the south. La Concha mountain fills the horizon to the north and east, and the light on it at sunset is something guests mention regularly. The apartment has multiple outdoor terrace levels, but the rooftop is where most time is spent.

Location

The apartment is in the Las Adelfas complex in Nueva Alcantara, the beachside neighbourhood of San Pedro de Alcantara. San Pedro beach is around 50 metres away on foot, directly across the road from the complex entrance. The beach is wide and generally uncrowded. The sand is darker and slightly coarse, typical of this stretch of the Costa del Sol, and in some areas the shoreline can be slightly stony when entering the water, so aqua shoes can be useful. The promenade runs along the seafront for several kilometres and connects directly to Puerto Banus and Marbella to the east. Many guests are surprised that you can walk all the way there along the seafront. It is lined with beach restaurants (chiringuitos), cafes, cycle lanes and playgrounds. Walking to Puerto Banus along the promenade takes around 30 to 40 minutes. San Pedro itself is quieter than Puerto Banus and is a proper Spanish town with a year-round community. Local restaurants, bars and supermarkets are within walking distance of the complex. For day trips further along the coast or into the hills, a car is useful but not essential for daily life.

The area has a typical Mediterranean climate with long warm summers and mild winters. Summer daytime temperatures are usually in the high 20s to low 30s, typically moderated by sea breezes. Spring and autumn are often particularly good for walking, golf and outdoor dining. Winter can bring cooler and occasionally rainy spells, which surprises some guests. December to February are the quieter months and while sunny days are common, pack layers and do not rely on beach weather. Day to day, most guests settle into a simple pattern: beach or pool in the morning, lunch along the promenade, and evenings back on the rooftop. Everything you need for that kind of stay is within walking distance.

The Complex

Las Adelfas is a well-established beachfront complex in Nueva Alcantara, directly across the road from San Pedro beach. The complex has two communal swimming pools, mature gardens, sun loungers and underground parking. The main entrance gate opens directly onto the promenade. The beach, nearest chiringuitos and restaurants are all within a short walk. It is a mix of holiday homes and permanent residents with a settled neighbourhood feel. Las Adelfas is a no-party urbanisation. Guests are asked to be considerate of neighbours with regard to noise.



Pool Season:

One pool is open from the start of Easter week until approximately the end of October. A second pool operates during peak summer, in July and August only. Both pools are closed from late October until Easter week. Opening and closing dates may vary depending on weather conditions, and daily opening times are set by the Las Adelfas administration.



Who Stays Here

Families and groups of friends make up most of the bookings. The lift, the size of the apartment and the rooftop space work well for larger groups, and the beach proximity and promenade make it straightforward with children. Most days here organise themselves naturally. Mornings at the pool or on the beach, lunch at one of the chiringuitos on the promenade, and long evenings on the rooftop with the outdoor kitchen going. Puerto Banus is a short drive when you want something different, but most guests find they do not need to go far.

    Beautiful apartment with fantastic pool and huge terrace area. The host was very helpful and friendly. Location excellent with amazing views from the terrace. Right by the beach with lots of bars and restaurants and a short walk to San Pedro town. Would recommend and would book again.

    This was the second time staying at this great apartment with friends, and once again it did not disappoint. It is well equipped and comfortable, and such a perfect location with the beach and promenade on the doorstep, and a fantastic pool within the property grounds (there are 2 but only one is open late season even then not at all crowded). Communication with Thomas and Colleen is always easy and friendly, and they go out their way to make sure we are well set for our visit and on hand for anything needed during our stay. Our first visit was incredible, and there are not regrets at all having chosen to return - another truly incredible holiday in Marbella ☀️?✨

    This trip was primarily to attend the 2023 Women's Solheim Cup golf tournament. San Pedro de Alcantara is a terrific location! The panoramic view from the rooftop deck was beautiful! Mountains to the north and east and water to the south. Easy walk to the Sea and restaurantsnorth to shops and other restaurants. Three levels of outdoor private decks were magnificent! There was plenty of space for 5 adults and the 3 decks provided space for quiet reflection. Beautiful bright interior and perfect weather! The host was very accommodating and communicative! Loved the covered, assigned parking and the grocery pack on arrival! A truly marvelous trip!! We are already talking about booking this location again.

    We really enjoyed our stay at the accommodation. Everything you need is in the apartment . It’s very safe and clean . We would like to book again next year to take our family . I think the wooden bar across the balcony could be replaced as if you had a small child it’s quite open . The outside covers on the chairs with the table are very dirty, stained . I think there could be one or two extra Sun loungers as if there were 8 people there are only 4 but I guess you have the pool ones. But it’s a beautiful apartment and outside space

    The property was everything promised in the listing and more. Gorgeous views from the rooftop terrace. Comfortable beds. Beautiful pool and a short walk to the beach. Property managers Thomas and Colleen were extremely helpful and very responsive to our questions throughout the entire process. We had one major problem unrelated to the property. It was our first time traveling to Spain and prior to checking in we made the mistake of leaving our rental car unattended at a nearby supermarket. The window was smashed and our luggage was stolen. The beautiful property helped ease the complications that resulted from having our luggage stolen. I highly recommend the property and working with Thomas and Colleen.
