Great little apartment to stay in Burlington. Walking distance to a few popular attractions like Church Street Marketplace. Our stay was good. Our only dislikes were the walls are thin (you can hear the neighbors like they’re in your house), the bathroom is so tiny that you have to sit sideways to use the toilet and the bathroom upstairs has no sink to wash your hands. Also would like to mention no outlet in the bathroom to blow dry your hair. Minor things but just wanted people to be aware.
We had a nice, chill stay at the home. Two things I would recommend, put white noise machines in the bedrooms to counter the street and heating system noise and remove the garbage around the bottom of the entryway stairs. Thanks so much and I wish you the best in the New Year!
The listing is missing key details that may drastically affect your expectations and experience of the property. Pros: New furniture in the living and dining room. Beds were comfortable. Cons: Narrow steep stairs to the bedrooms on 2nd floor. Bathroom on main floor is nearly unusable, toilet facing sink, is 6 inches from sink, side maybe 10 inches from bathtub and other side is against the wall. Toilet with no sink is in a small closet upstairs. No counter space in kitchen, not amenable to cooking. No coat rack or downstairs closet. The surrounding area is run down, and the convenience store at the corner had a questionable clientele hanging around at all hours. Off street parking is on the grass.
We loved that the house was clean and bright. Kitchen items were in good condition and all the basics are available if you are cooking. Beds were comfy. Bathrooms are quirky, as others mentioned. Ok for me at 5’ 3” but a little uncomfortable for the tall guys in my family. Great location for walking the dog, she loved it!
This property has no functional bathroom. The first bathroom you have to sit at an angle to use as the toilet is 4 inches from the sink. There is a toilet upstairs no sink that was very wobbly. The dishes were dirty. The place is old with sketchy electrical lines everywhere. Do not stay here. I notified the owner of dirty dishes and got no response
We just stayed one night for a quick visit on our way back home. The place was as advertised. We were able to park our car off street easily and walk to our activities for the evening. The bathrooms are very small, and the bathroom upstairs is literally a toilet in a closet with no sink, but it is an older home, so I think it is typical for the area. It worked for us.
The sofa was dirty with baby food between the cushions. The upstairs toilet barely had room to sit down. The neighborhood was not great, although I should have done more research there. The dishes that looked glass in the photos were all plastic. The sheets were polyester. There was long dark hair on everything. The shower was hard to get to a good temperature. I appreciate that there was a new sponge and the sheets were clean. Also there was A/C (3 window units) which was nice to have.
Pros: Clean, easy check-in, decent location. Management company rep was grudging but ultimately responsive when I requested another set of sheets so one of our teens could sleep on the sofa. Cons: Not a lot of wiggle room - if you like some space to spread out your luggage and such, this isn't the place. The toilet is so close to the sink and tub that it is frankly uncomfortable to sit. There is a second toilet upstairs - but no sink. So if you're someone who needs to pee in the night, again, this isn't your place. The sheets are microfiber, which many people like but I do not. The window AC units work as they should, but they are loud when they kick on. There is no AC unit in the 2nd bedroom. Nutshell: it's a clean, budget place at a luxury price. I would guess that the reviewers who give it more than 2 or 3 stars are a) traveling alone and b) more concerned with location than comfort or affordability. I wish we had spent the same amount of money on two hotel rooms.
We had a wonderful stay at 11 LaFountain! The location is excellent. You can walk to the lake, Church Street, etc. The house was very clean and it was nice to have a parking spot. The bathroom (as advertised) is tight but managable. We found the house quaint and comfortable.
Great stopover for one night in Burlington, has AC, easy walk to Church Street and activities, nice to have private parking.
We enjoyed the clean home and the easy walk to Church St. for dinner and drinks!
This property was perfect for our need to explore and also relax. Nicely updated, beds were cozy & comfy. The bathrooms are small but didn't pose a problem for us because we are small too.
The place was very clean and had nice cooking facilities. The actual size of the rooms and the bathrooms were not reflected in the photos posted on VRBO.
The property was a great spot to relax and enjoy our long weekend in Burlington! The host was easy to communicate with, the property was clean and had the amenities we needed for our stay, and we were a super quick and easy ride from the waterfront and Church St Market location. I will note, the property is an older duplex. They make the space work, but it does mean the living space is a little cramped (most noticeable in the bathrooms) and you can hear the comings and goings of folks next door. None of that detracted from my family’s stay at all, but it’s good to be aware of. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!
Walkable to Church street!
This is a nicely decorated and well-lit property that appeared newly refurbished. It's about an 8 or 10 minute walk to downtown shops and restaurants. The bathrooms are non-standard; the upstairs bathroom has toilet and no sink, and the downstairs full bathroom is cramped with about five inches between the toilet and the sink cabinet. It's okay for children and smaller adults, but anyone weighing more than 160 pounds might have issues. A vent in the floor allows sound to travel between upstairs main bedroom and downstairs living area, both of which have TVs. The smaller bedroom has double bed which fills most of the room; you can get in only on one side. The beds were comfortable. The radiant heating system was completely quiet on day two, but on day one we heard flowing water sounds for hours. (It wasn't raining; we suspect there was some frozen water within or near the heating system.) The shower, which was located downstairs, was excellent. We used the kitchen, which was well-equipped, and the dining area, which was roomy and pleasant. The street was quiet and residential. Very close to North Street and a small convenience store. We loved breakfast at Yumnums, a bakery/restaurant on North Street. Overall a good property if you can deal with the unconventional bathrooms.
Just what we wanted. A cute place in walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Perfect for the two of us and our puppy. Nicely done decor- wise, the softest sheets I have ever slept on, I would actually love to know what the blend was, I need them!!
We loved our stay! It was about a 10 min walk to Church street and all the fine dining. It was private, had the amenities we needed and the beds- wow! The beds were great!
