I was a little nervous booking this spot since there were so few reviews. But we had a very pleasant stay. We had a little trouble accessing the entire unit at first, but the host team was very responsive, took care of it quickly, and made it right. The unit was quite spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us, offering some welcome privacy. It was a pleasant change for my son to sleep on a cot instead of a sofa bed! The location was excellent: a pleasant walk to the train station and a very short block to the Corrie Ten Boom house. I would gladly stay here again. The listing mentions that there are 3 bathrooms. We only were aware of 2. (It seems that bathrooms are counted differently in Europe than they are in N. America?). Each of the 2 combined units had a toilet room and a separate shower room. So that was very adequate for the 5 of us.

Absolutely perfect place to stay if you want a central location with lots of flexibility and your own space. Communication with the property management team was excellent. We had a very late night check-in and I failed to notice a 'how to check-in' email which detailed exactly how to get inside. This was not an issue however as their phone team were super helpful and very friendly. They highlighted the email that I should read and also made it clear that I should call back if there are any issues. Very reassuring to know you're well looked after. The actually property is fantastic! Super high ceilings so feels very spacious. Beautiful showers and bathrooms. Everything new and very clean. All the beds were beautifully set up for all 5 of us (note, they say they can provide a 5th fold out bed and it was much better than expected. The property had more than enough space for 5 big men.) It would be great for a large family. Slightly unusual door behind a door that we weren't sure we could lock from the inside. We probably could but maybe worth asking about that. Likely our mistake! And there is a central kitchen area that we didn't pay for or use in the end but if you were staying for longer would be very useful. The host replied to me quickly offering that space but the hob in the room is plenty. Highly recommend it. Lovely coffee shop 10 metres from the front door. Supermarket just round the corner. And obviously all the restaurants and bars around the Grote Markt. 10/10

Pros: - This apt is centrally located (it is across the street from the address provided, so read the arrival instructions carefully!) - The layout is flexible. 2 separate rooms, 2 separate bathrooms and showers, and a loft above the second room with 2 beds. The kitchen is off of the first room. - Pots and pans were provided (but no salt or oil) Cons: - After having been responsive in the lead-up to the trip, our contact, Sabine, disappeared the day of our arrival (Sunday). We asked about parking, the fact that there was no hot plate as advertised in the apt, and 2 of the beds were missing sheets and pillows. We called, texted, messaged on Vrbo, but they only answered around 9:30 the next day (Monday). The hosts provided electric hot plates and made the beds, but if they aren't available on the weekend, Sunday arrivals should not be possible. - The apartment was very hot and stuffy—over 20° in the loft—and there was no way to control the thermostat or open windows. By the end of our stay, it was dank, smelly, and humid, and we couldn’t air the apartment. - There were only single mattresses, and they were light, soft, and lumpy (as were the pillows). Everyone had severe back pain by the end of the trip. - A door in the apartment opens into a central managing room with numbered doors—other rentals managed by BetterStays, I hope? Surreal. The rental could have been great, but instead it was uncomfortable, unpleasant, and…strange!
