<br>The space:
Welcome to our farmhouse turned part-time residence and rental, in picturesque Deer Isle in Maine, just a 5-minute walk to Deer Isle Village with 44 North Coffee open year-round, Deer Isle Library, The Periwinkle, and art galleries. With its rich history and idyllic location, our home offers a relaxing getaway for those seeking a picturesque stay in coastal Maine on an artsy island that also hosts Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.

The farmhouse has an enclosed porch with rocking chairs and a hammock. From here, you can take in views of the surrounding landscape, including a vibrant lupine field from late May - mid-July that adds a burst of color to the scenery during the summer months. There is also a deck out back, a great spot for a morning coffee.

Important notes:
The two bedrooms and a full bathroom are up a flight of stairs. The ground floor contains a living/reading room, dining room, half bath with washer/dryer, and kitchen. There is an enclosed side porch and a backyard wildflower meadow. The harbor is across the street and Mill Pond is down the street.

Guest access:
Exclusive access to the entire house is granted to guests, excluding the barn, extension to the barn, and basement. While there's no dishwasher, a washer and dryer are conveniently available on-site.

Other things to note:
For those who appreciate the written word, our farmhouse boasts an extensive collection of books that line the shelves. Lose yourself in the pages of literary classics or discover new authors as you curl up in a cozy nook. Peruse our curated book collection, relax with one of hundreds of books, and purchase some to take home! Or take a three-minute walk to the causeway and Deer Isle village. Note that at this time, the farmhouse has one television in the larger bedroom upstairs.

Our old farmhouse turned vacation rental on Deer Isle promises an unforgettable experience. Indulge in the beauty of the nearby ocean, bask in the charm of a wildflower field, and immerse yourself in the enchanting world of literature.

Simple, quirky, rustic accommodation in a lovely part of Maine. Provision of coffee and snacks much appreciated, as was early check in. Unfortunately we found the bed uncomfortable and heating the place fully was tricky, so the second bathroom was too cold to use during our stay. Cooking a meal from scratch would be difficult due to limited supply of cooking utensils.

The house is lovely and comfortable. Conveniently located on Deer Isle. There was a little glitch in check in but the owner was great in fixing it and went above and beyond to help us. The only downside was the house is right next to the road which is a main road in the area. Trucks are pretty loud early in the morning.

Mary's house makes simplicity feel luxurious. It is charming and has the conveniences that make a stay a vacation: location to Deer Isle, parking, laundry, screened-in side porch and outdoor deck on the property, a/c. The art, books, and quick communication are great pluses. This is the place i've been hoping to find!

I needed to have some time to unplug and think without the distractions of my home. I packed up my nine-year-old German Shepherd and off we went. The farmhouse was perfect, the instructions with check-in were spot on, and the house is idiotic.I had dinner at Fern and Finn and came back and settled into the house with my book and a glass of wine. Just what I needed.

I was blown away by this property and the property managers. Words don't do it justice. It's adorable, unique, clean, peaceful and there is something enjoyable for everyone of all ages. From the downstairs bookstore just casually available in the living room, the fireplace, to the field of flowers in the back, and the screened in porch, to the refurbished bathtub reading nook. It was a magical place on a magical island and the perfect stay!
