Cleburne is in Johnson County, Texas. It is also the county seat. Cleburne is named after a Confederate General by the name of Patrick Cleburne. Lake Pat Cleburne, which is the reservoir that provides water to the city, is also named after this Confederate General. The population here as of 2017 was just over 30,000. The population here at the time of the 2010 census was just over 29,000; so, the population has not greatly increased in recent years but it is expected to once future development takes place. Located just ten miles from the city limits you will find “Cleburne State Park” which is a 528 acre state park that is operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Within this park is a 116 acre spring fed Cedar Lake. Cleburne State Park truly has everything if you are looking for some outdoor adventure. Here you can fish, camp, swim and hike on one of the many trails here. There is also a 96 acre sports complex here called the “Cleburne Sports Complex.” This complex is amazing and features two football fields, seven baseball fields and a staggering twenty soccer fields! There are 13 miles of mountain bikes trials that offer up hills as well as a flat terrain for a softer bike ride. The Depot at Cleburne Station
This multi-use facility just opened in May of 2017 and is home to “The Cleburne Railroaders.” This independent professional baseball team is based right here in Cleburne and is part of the American Association. The ballpark has 1,750 seats as well as bleachers and several other areas for you to sit at while you enjoy the game. Besides baseball, this ballpark also hosts concerts and other sporting events throughout the year.
