Learn More About Miami, Florida

Learn More About Miami:
Miami is a major metropolitan U.S. city located on Florida’s southeastern coast. With a city and surrounding area population of more than 5.5 million, it is the largest in the state and the eighth largest in the United States. Miami is world renowned as a tourist destination as well as one of the southern United States’ major commercial hubs. In 2012, Miami was classified as an alpha world city in the World Cities Study Groups Inventory.
Miami is almost synonymous with warm, sunny weather. It has a tropical monsoon climate which features a drier winter season. It has an average temperature of just under 70° in the winter and in the mid to high 80s in the warmer months.
There’s no question one of the major draws to living in the city of Miami is the weather and proximity to some of the worlds most beautiful beaches. The South Beach area alone is world-famous for attracting celebrities and entertainers and is a major draw for both visitors and local alike. Miami is a great destination for somebody looking for a major American metropolitan mentre combined with sunny warm beach access.
Miami is also home to a lot of very unique and interesting neighborhoods, the most notable of which is likely Coconut Grove. ‘The Grove’, as it’s known by locals, is found just south of the downtown area and is home to an eclectic collection of shops, boutiques, restaurants and is the home of Miami’s original art gallery district. Other cities in America have their cool, chic districts but what they don’t have that The Grove has is the lush green landscape and clear blue waters of Biscayne Bay.
Many say that the heart of the downtown Miami core is Bayfront Park, an 832-acre public park located on the shores of Biscayne Bay and widely reputed to be one of the nations most beautiful public parks. The park is the site of Miami’s biggest public celebrations such as its annual Independence Day celebration as well as the annual New Year’s Eve party. The park features and amphitheatre which has a seating capacity of 10,000, as well as open air pavilions for other smaller events.
Miami is in many ways Florida’s cultural capital. It is the site of rock concerts, stage performances, movie and TV productions too numerous to mention. There’s also plenty of opportunity to take in various stage performances at world-class facilities such as The Guzman Centre for Performing Arts, The Florida Grand Opera, or the New World Symphony Orchestra.
Schools in Miami are administered by the Miami Dade County Public School system,  The largest school district in the state of Florida and the fourth largest in the United States. The school district is truly one of the more diverse in the state as it features students who speak 56 different languages and represent 160 countries.
It’s not hard to see why Miami is a very popular destination for people looking for a new residence. Its reputation for sun, sand, and fun, speaks for itself. But Miami has more to offer than just fun in the sun. In 2008. Forbes magazine ranked Miami as America’s Cleanest City, noting its quality air, drinking water, clean streets, and vast green spaces.
