Land O’ Lakes is a large community in Pasco County that would definitely attract individuals who value nature, with its amazing topography and the awesome serenity on offer. Located just north of Tampa, the community forms part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The amazing location no doubt played a part in the decision to give the community its present name in 1950. The tempo of expansion is so significant that some neighboring communities, such as Ehren, Denham and Gowers Corner, have been absorbed into the CDP. From a population of just about 4,500 in 1980, the number of residents has jumped to over 30,000 – standing at 31,145 as of 2010 census. The median age was about 38 years. New developments are constantly cropping up around the city to cater to the diverse needs of the residents.
There should not be any problem with commuting when you move to Land O’ Lakes. This is considering its proximity to decent interstate and highway systems. The major roads here include Suncoast Parkway, U.S. Route 41, SR 54 and SR 597. The Suncoast Parkway extends north and south near the western edge of the community, while U.S Route 41 is the major north-south highway serving Land O’ lakes and the entire central Pasco County. Accessing different parts of the Tampa Bay area should be seamless.
The educational system in this community is one of its attractions, especially for families with children. The public schools in the area, which are supervised by the Pasco County Schools System, include Lake Myrtle Elementary School, Denham Oaks Elementary School, Oakstead Elementary School, Pine View Middle School and Land O’ Lakes High School. There are also private schools in this CDP, which is only a short commute from the University of South Florida and University of Tampa.
Land O’ Lakes offers a lot to see and do for leisure.
