Casa Grande which is Spanish for “Big House” is in Pinal County, Arizona. Casa Grande is smack dab in between Phoenix and Tucson. Back in the year 1880 the population here was just 33. It was not until the 1930’s that the population here finally reached more than a thousand people. By the 1950’s the population here in Casa Grande exploded to more than 4000 people. Then in the year 2000 the population here reached a little more than 25,000 and continued to grow ever since then. The population here in Casa Grande according to a poll taken back in 2016 shows that the population is just around 55,000. According to the United States Census Bureau, Casa Grande is 110.20 square miles in size with all of that being land. When it comes to the weather in this portion of Arizona it is categorized as a hot desert climate which means the summers tend to be extremely hot and the winters tend to be cooler and dry. The hottest part of the year here goes from the end of May until about mid September when the daily average temperature is just under 100 degrees. The low for this time is just under 80 degrees. Being in a desert climate, this is to be expected. The coolest part of the year goes from the end of November until the end of February when the daily average high is around 72 degrees. The low for this period is just about 40 degrees. So the winters here tend to be very mild and often times warm. You will rarely see the weather here dip below 31 degrees during the winter months or above 111 during the summer. On average there is only about ten inches of rain fall here a year. Additionally, Casa Grande has about 295 sunny days a year which is 90 more than the US average.

Most people who live here in Casa Grande commute to work in either Tucson or Phoenix. The reason for this is that most people would rather work in more metro areas but live in a more suburban area like Casa Grande. If you live here, you can commute North if you work in the Phoenix Metro area or to the South if you work in Tucson. But there are several new businesses that have opened here in recent years to keep up the growing population like restaurants and retail outlets. One of the main employers here in Casa Grande is “The Promenade as Casa Grande.” This outdoor mall is on a 100 acre plot of land that was once undeveloped desert and is more than a million square feet in size. It was built back in 2007 and then in 2017 it received a facelift when upgrades such as repainting, new entrances and exits and a fountain were done to enhance the shopping experience. Some of the other major employers in the area are Casa Grande Elementary School District, Banner Casa Grande Medical Center and the Walmart Distribution Center.

There are several subdivisions to live in here in Casa Grande. If you are looking for a new subdivision then take a look at “Tamaron Parcel E” which is a new development with homes that vary in size from 1,200 square feet up to 1,600 square feet.
