Apopka is a mid-sized city in Orange County Florida, in the greater Orlando-Kissimmee area. Another great source of community pride and spirit is Alonzo Williams Park. The three-acre facility boasts a multi-purpose field perfect for a game of soccer or football, outdoor basketball courts, a softball field, a neighborhood community center and a playground.

 

For those who prefer some water-adjacent recreation activities, there is no shortage of options from which to choose. One of the more popular choices is the strikingly beautiful Wekiwa Springs State Park. Located at the headwaters of the Wekiwa River, this park offers visitors the opportunity to relax in a natural setting, enjoy a picnic, or swim in the cool spring. There are 13 miles of trails provide opportunities for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. Canoeists and kayakers can paddle along the Wekiwa River and Rock Springs Run.  For those looking to spend a few nights under the stars, there are both full facility campground and primitive camping areas.
