There is a quaint country pub just outside the village called The Shepherd and Dog beside which is a spring, due to the constant flow of water from the chalk strata a small steam rises and travels uphill. The stream eventually flows out into a public tap and horsetrough, above which is a tiled inscription with a psalm in honour of John Ruskin a Victorian writer and philanthropist, definatley worth looking out for when visiting Fulking. Several of the houses in this Sussex village date back to the 1600s with a lot of them are half timbered. However Fulking is best known for it's beautiful countryside and proximity within the South Downs National Park. This is the perfect choice for walking and riding, whether by horse or cycle, with stunning views to admire as you stroll. .
