This beautifully refurbished cottage retains traditional character but also includes a host of modern comforts, making it an ideal home away from home.brbrThe cottage is set within the grounds of the our own property but is totally private. The garden has a barbecue and garden furniture so that you can enjoy some time outside.brbrWe run a run a small holding, with peacocks and poultry roaming free. We have kept alpacas and llamas for a number of years and would be happy to introduce you to these and any of our other creatures, although Tiggy, one of our cats will probably do a meet and greet as you arrive!brbrThere are many wonderful walks around the area. Dee Valley Cottages are two miles from Llangollen towards Betws Y Coed. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. with both the River Dee and the Steam Railway running along the bottom of the fields, about 200 yards down the bridal path. The cottages both sleep up to 4 adults in two bedrooms. Additionally, babies and children sleeping in cots are welcome. There is a private shared garden with amazing views across the Dee Valley Cottages are two miles from Llangollen towards Betws Y Coed. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. with both the River Dee and the Steam Railway running along the bottom of the fields, about 200 yards down the bridal path. There is a private shared garden with amazing views across the Dee Valley along side the secluded off road car park. We take pride in our cottages, they are both fully equipped, centrally heated and very cosy with open fires, huge super king size beds in one bedroom and twins in the other. The price you pay includes all power, linen and towels plus the first scuttle of logs. We do not charge extra.brbrThe cottages were converted in 2006 from the old barns that were attached to the farm that once worked the land around us. The buildings date back to at least the late 17th century, things get a bit hazy before then but, we believe there has been a building on the site for well over a thousand years. A holiday with us is more than just a holiday it's being part of and enjoying the real history of the area.brbrThere are very many activities suitable for the experienced, the novice or those who just want to relax and chill out. The area offers white water rafting, a particular favourite with families who have young children, you can go horse riding, mountaineering, canoeing, mountain biking. We have two stately homes with magnificent gardens in the area, a canal that offers boats rides, either horse drawn or drive your own. You can also take a barge across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a world heritage site. Those who have a head for heights can also walk across or even canoe. We have restaurants, bars and country pubs all close by. We even have the only Michelin starred restaurant in Wales just 20 minutes drive away; somewhere to celebrate that special day or anniversary.brbr

Ty Mam Mawr comprises 2 yurts sleeping up to 11 guests with log cabin kitchen/diner/shower/toilet + smaller cabin with compost loo/shower/kitchen located high in Cynwyd forest in the beautiful Berwyn mountains in North Wales on our off grid eco property. brbrDee Valley AONB on the doorstep, Snowdonia National Park nearby. brbrDeep peace & tranquility, stunning skies and views, no light pollution. brbrThere are two yurts - Ty Crwn Bach Idris sleeping max 4 guests and Ty Crwn Mawr sleeping max 7 guests. brbrTy Crwn Bach Idris is a very comfortable yurt with spectacular views which can easily accommodate four people. It has a double bed and a double sofa bed. It is beautifully furnished with lovely linens, wall hangings, rugs and fairy lights creating a warm and magical space. brbrThere is a wood burning stove in the yurt which heats up the space very quickly and is perfect for boiling the kettle for a warming cuppa or making a pan of tasty soup/stew. All pots/pans, crockery and cutlery, mugs and glasses are provided. We simply ask that you wash them before you leave.brbrThe yurt is light and airy with a clear round glass opening window in the roof and a south facing stable door to help keep things cool on sunny days and hot summer nights. The floor and walls are insulated so it's toasty even in the coldest of winters.brbrThe covered deck outside the yurt provides somewhere sheltered to sit and enjoy the BBQ or the fire pit, although there are grassy areas to use if you would prefer. brbrIn keeping with the ethos of our home, we have tried to use reclaimed/recycled/up cycled materials wherever possible.brbrThere is also a BBQ and a fire pit. So hey....collect some wood from the forest and light a fire....you are glamping after all!!! brbrThere are standard electrical sockets in the yurt and low energy lighting there and in the bathroom/kitchen which all run off renewable energy sources. So by staying in Ty Crwn Bach Idris you will be doing your bit to reduce pollution and carbon emissions.brbrTy Crwn Mawr is a very comfortable yurt with spectacular views which can easily accommodate six people. It has a king size bed and four single futon beds and a couple of chairs. It is beautifully furnished with lovely linens, wall hangings, rugs and fairy lights creating a warm and magical space. brbrRight next to the yurt are an outside cooking area, compost toilet and outdoor shower cubicle. There is a secluded seating area and fire pit/BBQ to the south of the yurt.brbrThere is a wood burning stove in the yurt which heats up the space very quickly and is perfect for boiling the kettle for a warming cuppa or making a pan of tasty soup/stew. All pots/pans, crockery and cutlery, mugs and glasses are provided. We simply ask that you wash them before you leave.brbrThe yurt is light and airy with a clear round window in the roof and a north facing door to help keep things cool on sunny days and hot summer nights. We will be able to supply water in containers for drinking, cooking and washing and the compost loo will still be fully functional. We are working on 'winterising' and providing heating in the cabin and intend that this is in place later this year. We are up at 400m so if there is heavy and persistent snowfall, access to the property from the village one mile away may only be possible on foot or in a 4x4 vehicle. It's all part of the adventure!!!brbrIf you need assistance with anything just ask. The log cabin kitchen/dining room/bathroom next to the yurts.brbrYou will have your privacy but we are only too happy to chat, help, spend time, advise on places to go, things to do, where to walk etc. Apparently we are very approachable! brbrIf you would like to try your hand at chopping your own wood or joining in whilst we work on the vegetable garden you will be most welcome.brbrFeel free to play guitars, drums, or to sing your heart out if you are musically inclined. Enjoy the space and the feeling of freedom.brbrYou are welcome to quietly enjoy the land, sit by the pond and generally make yourselves at home. If we are enjoying our private spaces or in our garden please do be mindful of us in terms of noise levels and our privacy. Especially if you are bringing kids with you!! We are up for having some fun and if you ask us we’ll generally be happy for you to hang out with us but sometimes we like our own space too.
