However, the beach is so long and wide that even then it is never crowded! brbrAbout 20 minutes drive away is St Lawrence Gap with all its Nightlife: The St Lawrence Gap, in Christchurch Parish, is the night life centre of Barbados, located on the more commercial southern coast of the island. The resorts on the south coast are spread out, some even fairly isolated, but the Gap itself is lined with dozens of shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs, and, correspondingly, several resorts are clustered there as well. This part of Barbados is more casual and inviting than the Platinum Coast, and the resorts are hardly behind high walls.brbrBeaches on the south coast have fine white sand but are windier than those on the west coast. Reef-protected areas are safe for swimming. Some beaches have good surf and are prime spots for windsurfing. brbrJohnny Cool's Jazz and Blues Beach Bar located right on Dover Beach has to be one of my favourite spots on the Island for the best chill out experience ever! Indulge in some of Johnny's (locally known as Cool) superb cocktails and frozen drinks and feel all your stress just melt away in this idyllic setting.br brSailing Barbados: Nature's bounty has blessed Barbados with excellent weather, calm seas and steady breezes, making sailing off Barbados 'just beyond your imagination!' brbrThere are several Barbados yachts and catamarans available for charters. Private pool, gated parking for 2, grocery nearby. brbrDramatic cliff-side views and scenic evening strolls. Featuring 2 ensuite bedrooms, all with terraces opening onto ocean views with patio seats. The 2 level terrace offers afternoon shade, overlooking the pool with the ocean 50 yards beyond. In addition to the 2 identical spacious master suites with ensuites upstairs, there is a third accessible bedroom on the ground floor with double bed that has a full washroom on the main level, and a pull out Queen sofa bed in the living room. We are working on getting 2 chair beds for extra sleeping space so, the villa is perfect for four couples and 2 children. brbrThere is a modern equipped kitchen and granite Island seating 3, with a 6 seat kitchen table inside, and a 6 seat patio table outside on the tiled deck. brbrThe home is a traditional Barbados multi-louvered, glass less windowed home. There is no air conditioning as the louvered windows provide a constant flowing breeze and airy atmosphere. brbrNewley renovated in May 2026 (pictures to be added soon), with updated lighting, modern furniture with a luxurious boho feel, with turquoise accents right down to the new cutlery and pots and pans. brbrA full service coffee station comes with a teal Keurig and mini Nespresso machine with milk frother. A propane BBQ allows for quick grilling of fresh fish from nearby Oistins market. A gas range allows for chef inspired meals. brbrA work station with an office chair and stable wi-fi is available. HD smart tv is the focal point of the cozy 2 couch, 2 chair living room. brbrJust a few min drive from the airport with several sandy benches nearby, including the famous Crane resort within a 10 minute drive north, that has many restaurants that you make reservations at in advance. brbrCalmer beaches are a short 15 - 30min drive along the coast towards Bridgetown. A grocery store and bakery are a short walk from the house.

If what you are looking for is perfect tranquiltity, privacy without isolation, security and serenity--but with every contemporary convenience--you will find it at Astra.brbrThe house itself is an excellent example of island vernacular architecture, a three bedroom, two bathroom bungalow with shuttered windows on four sides and a wide verandah along the east and south side of the house, which face the beach and ocean.brbrThe house has a 20 metre pool, set on the coral cliff with a spectacular view of the beach and bay below. This is a perfect pool for swimming laps or just having a relaxing dip after sunning on the wonderful pool deck. The deck itself has two gazebos, one for relaxing in the shade and the other with a bar, small fridge, sink and BBQ. There is also a bathroom and shower in this area. One of the most magnificent features of this pool is the infinity edge which overlooks the cliff and sea below giving one the impression of the sea being an extension of the pool.brbrPerfect for families of up to six, or two or three couples vacationing together, Astra offers casual comfort, seclusion, and a very short drive to one of the least-crowded beaches on the island of Barbados, all within 10 minutes of the airport and 30 minutes of Bridgetown.brbrThe weekly rate includes daily maid service. Upon request, the services of an experienced cook, who can prepare the local seafood and island specialties, is also available for an additional charge.
