Thirlestane Farm Cottage & Barn-CooroybrbrA quintessential farm workers cottage and barn renovated to an exceptionally high standard with a modern barn extension, for use as a holiday home set in 24 acres of peaceful rolling hills, close to the township of Cooroy & only 20 mins from the stunning beaches of Noosa Shire.brbrSleeping up to 8 guests it is ideal for families or close friends to escape to the country and just relax & enjoy both the serenity of the farm but also enjoy the many activities that the Noosa Hinterland offers.brbrAs a family we enjoy the beach during the summer and sitting around a fire in winter so 4 years ago we went searching for a property that we could all spend time together.brbrWe found a little tired cottage sitting in 24 acres of an old dairy farm, high on a hill that offered the most spectacular views and was only 20 mins to the beach.brbrWe bought it that day and have spent those last 4 years renovating the home and building a modern barn to an extremely high standard, each completed self contained with two bedrooms, with quality fixtures and fittings, built fire pits, an outdoor cinema, become proud owners of Highland cows, ducks, chickens, bees and planted orchards but we have been very careful not to lose the authentic feel of a working country home that we found so appealing the first time we set eyes on the property.brbrWe plan to continue to improve Thirlestane in the coming years with the addition of a pool and further eco-cottages set around the farm, but for the time being we're just delighted to have found this wee jewel in the middle of the most beautiful countryside.brbr

Botanical Gardens and Lake nearby (15 mins).brbrLocated in the back hills area of Cooroy, set on 6 1/2 lush acres, the separate 'self-contained cottage' forms part of our homestead being the owner's residence.brbrIt is surrounded by a permaculture garden with native birds being one of the background sounds. Even rare 'wrens'. brbrYou will hear the cows walking by and very occasionally the neighbor's tractor if he needs to check on the surrounding cows. brbrThere is something unique about the proximity of this cottage, as this property is surrounded by pyramid-style mountains. brbrYour accommodation is a delightful space with a queen bed, a spare single bed which also doubles up as a couch, a bathroom, a shower, and a kitchen with stove top and oven. Also a microwave oven. brbrNatural and simplistic yet very comfortable stylish and private. Ideal for 2 persons extra mattress available for a child.brbr A Quiet and peaceful space that gives the visitor time to unwind and get off the merry-go-round. brbrThe cottage is serviced by a fresh rainwater tank with filtered water and a shower within the bathroom. brbrGreat views from the balcony/verandah for enjoying the beautiful sunrise & sunsets. A perfect glassed-in sun room, which doubles up as extra space. Again this is a very private area.brbrInside the cottage, there is a state-of-the-art water purification system, and a DVD Player - New Smart TV is connected. brbrSome great movies for your enjoyment, CD players, books, and magazines. Also, the table in the glassed-in area can be used as a desk.brbrThe cottage is a 5-minute drive from the Cooroy village and Station and bus stop and around a 25-minute drive to popular Noosa Beach National Park. brbrThe local Cooroy village has many facilities including a modern library, restaurants, coffee shops, and cafes.
