Captain's House KATE60 – the unique holiday retreat on Borkum

Borkum, NDS, Germany

OUR UNIQUE HOUSE:brbrThe Captain's House KATE60 is located on a private property of over 500 m², centrally located in the old town center of Borkum. With 170 m² of living space, it offers space for a maximum of 10 (8+2) people in two exclusive suites.brbrAfter their extensive renovation, both suites of KATE60 have been awarded five DTV stars and thus feature all the modern amenities for a relaxing holiday on Borkum.brbrTHE DESIGN OF YOUR SUITE TWEE:brbrYou enter your SUITE TWEE through your own private entrance. It is equipped for use by four adults. On the ground floor, you will find the cozy living/dining room with an Eiermann dining table and Vitra seating, our Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen, and an open designer kitchen.brbrOld floorboards and historic beamed ceilings create a unique atmosphere in Suite Twee. This is further emphasized by the master bedroom with king-size box-spring bed and B&O TV, as well as the separate master bathroom with rain shower and the spacious wardrobe, which are also located on the ground floor.brbrThe rear stable door of Suite Twee leads you from the living area directly to the private terrace and the secluded, fully fenced garden. Here, you'll find a high-quality Conmoto seating area with a bench and chairs, a large market umbrella, and your own beach chair for relaxing with your loved ones.brbrOn the upper floor gallery, you'll find a reading corner with a comfortable Vitra rocking chair. Branching off from this is the guest toilet with a vanity unit and the second bedroom (king-size box spring bed 180x200). This bedroom also offers a separate work area, a designer wardrobe from Hay, and space for a baby/child's travel cot, which is part of the house's furnishings.brbrA private parking space is located directly next to the house. You can also optionally charge your electric car here.brbrTHE IMPRESSIVE HISTORY:brbrOur Captain's House, KATE60, originally built in 1660, is the oldest house on the island and a focal point for any city tour. Wilhelm Busch (Max & Moritz), among others, was among our guests. If you'd like to learn more about our unique vacation retreat and its exciting history, simply visit the nearby island museum or our website KATE60.de.brbrTHE ISLAND:brbrEveryone gets their money's worth on Borkum!brbrWhether you're looking for peace and quiet on one of the expansive beaches, often deserted even in peak season, or an action-packed adventurer kitesurfing and sand yachting on the North Beach, everyone will find their place on this family-friendly North Sea island in every season.brbrGastronomically, there's nothing lacking either. From pizza to tenderloin and from crab sandwiches to vegan snacks at the beach stalls, there's something for every palate.brbrAnd what, for us, is part of (every) Borkum vacation Here are a few tips:brbr– Enjoy the Suite Twee with its artworks by Günther Uecker, Herbert Zangs, Jan Schoonhoven, and others.br– Ride your bike to the Sanddornbüdchen (Sandbuckthorn stall) and put your feet in the warm sand.br– Enjoy an impressive sundowner on the north beach at Ria's Beach.br– Of course, a (night watchman) city tour past our KATE60.br– Ride your bike to the Ostland (Eastland) and walk to the End of the Island.br– Take a leisurely stroll through the Gruene Stee (Green Street) with a detour to the Südstrandbüdchen (South Beach stall).br– Climb the Neuer Leuchtturm (New Lighthouse) with a view over Borkum and the neighboring islands.br– Fly a kite at the Sturmeck (Storm Corner).br– Visit the rescue cruiser in the harbor.br– Be the first on the beach at least one morning.brbrIf you're not yet feeling wanderlust for the most beautiful sand pile in the world, you can find some final inspiration at Borkum.de and then soon be greeted with a warm Moin!
