All the windows in the apartment and the garden afford breathtaking panoramic views of the garden, forests, the Nockberge, the valley and two lakes. The accommodation is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, for couples and families looking for a quiet and private starting point for exploring Carinthia and enjoying summer and winter sports and activities.Very quiet holiday apartment with a 360° panoramic view of mountains and two lakes, with a garden, a terrace, a grill and parking spacebrbrThe beautiful and completely private garden (900m²) affords wonderful views and has a terrace with a wooden table and benches, an awning, a large chestnut tree providing shade, a charcoal grill and play equipment for children (swing, slide, large sandpit and giant trampoline in summer), as well as up to four deckchairs and a parasol. The living and dining room has a two-seater sofa, a coffee table, a dining table with chairs and can be used at night as a second bedroom (two single beds 90 x 200cm, of which one can be pulled out from under the other, serving as seating during the daytime). A little road meanders up from Feld am See to the house (ca. 1.6km). A 4x4 or winter tyres and chains are recommended in winter, although the roads are cleared. Feld am See is half an hour from Villach and Spittal an der Drau (with train stations) and 15 minutes from the World Cup ski resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim (over 100km of pistes and cross-country skiing trails in winter), as well as the Gerlitzen ski resort with spectacular views of the Julian Alps. The nearest airports are in Klagenfurt (45 minutes by car), Ljubljana/Slovenia (1 hour by car) and Salzburg (2 hours by car). Feld am See itself has a lake, Brennsee, with a little public grass beach and boat hire, some restaurants and cafés, a bank (with ATM), a fish farm with fresh local fish, a Wild Animal Park (Wildpark) for families and children, Krainer Sports School with bicycle (including e-bike) hire, tennis courts and sailing courses, and access to an extensive hiking and mountain biking network. You can set out on hikes and cycle tours directly from the house. Trip destinations, all within 15-45 minutes by car, include: cable cars e.g. Turracher Höhe with summer toboggan run, various lakes with swimming and boat trips (Wörthersee, Millstätter See, Faaker See, Afritzer See, Weissensee), a Heidi Park for children, Minimundus in Klagenfurt, Maltatal with the highest waterfall in Carinthia and a reservoir dam, the Nockalmstrasse scenic toll road through the Nockberge National Park etc. Information material is provided in the apartment and the owners can provide information, as well as about the Kärnten Card, the key to over 100 attractions in Carinthia. In winter you can benefit from a 20% price reduction on ski passes (for Bad Kleinkirchheim/St. Oswald) through the owners. Further afield, the seaside at Piran/Slovenia is 2.5 hours away by car, Venice is three hours away, Salzburg two hours away, and Grossglockner -the highest mountain in Austria with a glacier- is 1.5 hours away.brbrFree wireless Internet access is available in the apartment and outdoors. Oil central heating is included in the rental price during the winter months and there is also a portable electric radiator for use all year round. There is no air conditioning, as the apartment is pleasantly cool even at the height of summer. Pets are not allowed. It is a non-smoking apartment and all the floors are tiled or wooden floorboards. The apartment does not have a washing machine, but for longer stays the owners can provide a laundry service (see supplementary charges). There is no TV. The owners on the upper floors are happy to provide information and advice and speak English, German, Czech, French, Italian and Luxembourgish. Energy costs are included.
