Soon arrive to sparkling seas and panoramic views to Puffin Island and Eryri/Snowdonia beyond.brbrIt's a rare treat to stay at Pen Bonc, a former fisherman's cottage right on the coastal path and a little cove with captivating sea and mountain views from almost every window. Ease through the gates, pass through a paddock and head to Pen Bonc. Whitewashed and simple, the stone of the cottage walls dug from the surrounding fields hundreds of years ago, could tell some stories.brbrInside it is perfectly presented for the 21st century. The generous open-plan living space has a high ceiling and it's easy to stay sitting snuggled on the sofa while the wood-burner blazes in the ancient inglenook fireplace. Used for smoking herrings it has a very old oak beam from the Souter Johnny sloop.brbrThe kitchen is simple but well equipped, and the dining table is vast if you're having a special celebration.brbrAfter a day's blast of sea air, come home to sleep well. Off the kitchen is a cloakroom and a handy accessible king bedroom beyond with a well-dressed bed looks out over the beach and island. The super ensuite walk-in shower room has heaps of space and is perfect for the less mobile. On the other side of the kitchen are three more bedrooms. A warm king bedroom is a simple escape with wooden beams and walls washed in white. Dotted with much-loved antique items that have aged wonderfully over the years. A double bedroom is small and serene. The bathroom here, white and bright, is an easy to reach from all three bedrooms.brbrCurve up the staircase to a twin room. The little gallery nook with cushions on the top landing opposite is a haven for den builders and TV enthusiasts.brbrGlass doors from the kitchen open onto spectacular views from the front outside space with a table and chairs and BBQ for summer suppers and chat. You are nicely private here – benches are a good spot for listening to sea birds and reading a book. Unless of course you can't take your eyes of that view. The back door (with ramp) gives alternative access to the kitchen and quick access to the beach.brbrThe Anglesey Coastal path leads behind the garden, inland of Pen Bonc. It's close enough to enjoy but note, people stroll past on their way up the coast. There's heaps to do here. Beachcombing on the little beach off the garden or join that walk along the coastal path.
