Pets are allowed but again must be cleared beforehand and the pet needs to be added to the listing so the pet fee is covered.brbrWe charge $15 per visitor, paid separately, to account for variable costs associated with additional people such as consumables, cleaning, trash, insurance, etc. Hidden / snuck in guests will result in the stay being cancelled and a fine of $200 per person per night. There are no late checkouts allowed unless expressly cleared with us beforehand, which typically must be done the night before the stay. If you don't have an express agreement with us to checkout late or extend, then you must be out at 11:15 am on your checkout date, and we will charge up to $400 or the full cost of any impacted reservation, whichever is higher.brbrThese rules will seem strict but they are there for a reason, which is to prevent disruption to the neighborhood and damage to the home. If you feel iffy about violating any of these just ask me ahead of time and I'll let you know if it's an issue or not. I will NEVER fine you for something you cleared with me. I've been a superhost for a number of years now and my goal is not to charge you these fines, but rather to make them severe enough that guests will be upfront about their intentions to use the property and will not risk trying to cut the wifi to the home (it has happened twice) to avoid me noticing parties and extra guests. These rules are designed for a number of guests who have booked for 2 people and had a 40 person raging party while claiming only 2 slept there, or who shoot music videos with smoke machines in the house damaging the furniture, and situations like that. This gets sent to all guests, so is not personal. brbr1. There is an unauthorized / unapproved party fine of $4,000 and the reservation will be cancelled and you will be forced to leave the listing. Just be sure to clear gatherings with me ahead of time and I'll be able to tell you if the place is suitable for what you have planned.br2. ALL guests must be included in the reservation, and ALL visitors must be cleared ahead of time and we charge $15 per visitor. There is additional cost to cover insuring those people, cleaning associated with larger groups, etc., so all gatherings must be cleared ahead of time so that we're all in agreement on these items. There is a fine of $200 per guest per night not included in the booking. This includes children. The cleaning and insurance is for anyone there, and so if you have 30 people over all day and only 2 sleep at night, I still have to account for cleaning and risk for 30 people. If you failed to include everybody in the booking, you can add them to it by altering the reservation during the booking. Just don't try to hide a bunch of extra guests and make me have to fine the $200 per guest per night.br3. $1,000 for each noise violation. The house doesn't have shared walls, so there's a lot of leeway here, but if I get complaints from my neighbors that are valid (if you're violating noise ordinances by blasting music late at night beyond city allowed limits), I'll have to fine you to pay them for the inconvenience and cover any tickets I might get. Repeated noise complaints also can result in cancellation of the reservation. This is a hard one to break, but just don't blast music unreasonably loud at crazy times and you should be fine.br4. $3,000 for smoking indoors, designed to cover damage to furniture and other cleaning. This is for all kinds of smoke, including hookah. Please smoke outside if you need to and please clean up any debris afterwards. The smoke detectors notify me of the room and keeps a log / history of alerts, so it will get noticed if you smoke inside.br5. Pets must be added to the reservation and the pet fee must be paid. Any pet brought onto the property without my clearance beforehand will incur a $1,000 penalty fee and any damage caused by the pet will be charged to the guest, including but not limited to a full house deep cleaning to remove any potential allergens. People who stay in the home when not rented have allergies, so the cost of deep cleaning can be substantial (as much as $1,000 or more in total), so please avoid this issue by discussing it with me beforehand. Damage caused by the pet will also be passed onto you, so by booking, you agree to cover these charges in full and to be responsible for the pet. The pet fee does not exclude this cost if the damage caused is greater than the fee.br6. All of these are additive, so if you throw a raging party without permission that has 70+ people there you will be charged the party fine, noise violations, and for the extra guests separately, along with damages including extra cleaning. For damages beyond a few hundred dollars the platform requires me to file a police report. So do not do it. I also have security cameras monitoring the exterior entrances of the home so you will not be able to throw one without me knowing. Please do not force me to have to do any of these things. It's very much not worth it. So just clear your plans ahead of time and we'll all be good.br7. No loud or excessive noise after Quiet Hours begin. Please be considerate of the neighbors. Walls aren’t attached, so you have some leeway here but keep the noise down during the night and be considerate of them. If I get complaints and have to compensate the neighbors or pay HOA fines, you agree by booking to cover those fines, which can be up to $1,000 per incident. br8. VRBO has specific restrictions for video shoots of any kind. Those must be adhered to and any music video, commercial, or production must be cleared with me. Please contact me before booking for this purpose. br9. Anybody using the yard, games, or athletic equipment for any purposes expressly agrees to assume any and all risk of injury from using the equipment. The grass is cut and fertilized routinely but otherwise is not maintained, so be careful, wear shoes, and have fun! By booking this reservation, you are acknowledging that you could become injured if you choose to play in the yard, and assume all risk in doing so. br10. There is no glass or breakable devices allowed in the backyard.br11. As the home is in Illinois, please be wary of any animals in the yards. Illinois has snakes, spiders, etc, so be alert at all times. By booking you agree to take on any risk of an animal encounter and fully indemnify the owners.br12. You do not have access to the maid's storage closets or the electrical closets or attics. Entrance into these areas are house rules violations. Complaints about cleanliness of these off limits areas will not be considered valid.br13. Using anything that leaves a lingering smell, such as incense, is expressly prohibited. You will be charged thousands to steam clean the home. It needs to be left in the same state as you found it, and not everybody likes the smell of incense and other fragrances so we will have to treat it to avoid complaints by other guests.br14. While the street itself is very quiet, tree lined and barely has cars passing by, as soon as you turn the corner, you are in the center of everything! Wells street restaurants and bars are steps away. Lincoln Park with the zoo, farm, pond, open spaces and farmers market is a 7-10 min. walk. North avenue beach is the same distance. It is perfect for walks, picnics, boat rides or good old fun in the sand. The beaches are free to the public and have breathtaking city views. Grocery shopping is made easy, seeing as Plum Market and Jewel are located right in the neighborhood. Nearby coffee shops include a 24 hour Starbucks and La Fournette. There are 103 restaurants within a 15 minute walk including some of Chicago's top restaurants including Kamehachi, Topo Gigio, The Fireplace Inn, and Woodies Flat. Bars and lounges are abundant on Wells and are all 1-2 minute walk. Shopping in Old Town is a unique experience; the majority of shops in this neighborhood are boutiques rather than well-known chain stores. Therefore, each and every store is cozy, intimate and filled with one-of-a-kind goods. The Lincoln Park Zoo is a world of wildlife in the shadow of skyscrapers. The Second City only two blocks away and it is a famous theater that specializes in sketch comedy and improv, and has been delighting audiences for over 50 years. This is a private three bedroom house you will be reserving in the Avondale neighborhood. Plenty of available free street parking. The residence sits on the intersection of Elston, Rockwell and Wellington. We are in the middle of it all. You can shoot into downtown quickly or be in Wrigleyville within minutes to watch the Cubs. You’ll love this place because of the tucked away neighborhood and privacy. I recommend using a vehicle to-and-from this location.15 minute drive to downtown.brbrThe space is three large carpeted bedrooms, sunny dining room, chill living room, and one bathroom. Only a few stairs up from the sidewalk and you are in the house that was built in 1892. The look and feel of the house is true Chicago vintage. You have all the privacy you need. Decent size deck in the back with a gated backyard. Hardwood floors in the living and dining room add to the retro feel. Each bedroom has a large closet, full or queen size bed, night stand and dresser. Create breakfast for your group in the large kitchen that has lots of cabinets and storage space. Plenty of closets throughout if you are a traveling band or in Chicago for work and need a temporary place for your equipment. There is a washer and dryer in the house that you may use. Radiator heat keeps the place toasty in the cold months. Window AC units keep the whole place cool in the summertime. No large parties please.brbr****You have access to the deck, yard, and laundry room.****brbr****If you need anything I live under 10 minutes from the property.****brbrbrThings to consider before making a reservation: br-Although the house is in a manufacturing area, you are very much within the city limits and not the suburbs. The street that the house is on Elston, can have lots of traffic during the day. brbr-Please take note that the house is next to a Steak House. They do have parties at times and will play music at night (open until 1am on weekends). From my experience I do not think it is excessive, however if you have children with you this may pose a problem on certain nights (weekends).brbr-Just a heads up, I have alcohol related advertisements in the form of signage and posters in the kitchen.brbr-The other thing to think about is getting around town from this location. This rental is best if you have a vehicle. The bus and train are not right outside the door. You will have to do a little research on catching the train and bus (or ask me). We are not terribly far from public transportation, however if your not from Chicago you may find dealing with the train and bus system can be tedious. The nearest subway station in the Blue Line Logan Square stop; The neighborhood is very pleasant to walk through. The AGH is not walking distance to downtown. You can get to downtown Chicago in 15 minutes or less by car. brbrbrbrPlease ask me if early arrival or late departing is available. I do allow flexibility brwith the schedule if time permits. However please remind me the day before that you will be coming early or leaving late if we agreed to it.
